Keeping The Faith

Last Update: May 20, 2011

No matter how well defined something is, I for one, am inclined to challenge it. Look at every possible angle, argue every point, move the lines around to see if it can be made into something its not. Conspiracy theories, maneuvered situations, shading the truth are all specialties of mine but I'm also inclined to see things for their fairest value and since I can't seem to find any holes in the boat I sit in it with relative ease.

Call me a believer. Transparency is a huge word these days, but I don't think any one will ever figure out how to make some thing viewable that every one of sees the same way. There is no mystery to affiliate marketing or any other kind of marketing for that matter. The simple fact is every human being on earth sees things a little differently. I stray from the house only to return hungry, cold and a little spent. See I don't have much success with marketing... I don't have any success with marketing but I'll fool myself into thinking I have a little. It keeps me moving.

"Align a customer with a product." I will. It may take the next fifty years but I will. I can see the grail, I just can't touch it. We (I say we because I would like to think there are others.) come here looking for what is apparent. It is all around us. The answers are scattered every where. There is nothing hidden, but it can't be gathered. Not yet, but as long as we keep coming here there is a chance something will sink into our stubborn conscious mind and give us the energy and direction we need to overcome our own self imposed boundary.

I like the challenges that this simple process has created for me and I think that is why I keep after it. Marketing requires walking and living in everyone else's mind because you have to know what people want, why they want it, what motivates them to buy it, and how to make yourself the desirable seller. For some people this is easier than others because they are social creatures and mesh naturally.(The most successful marketers are under age 35. No wonder.) I have always been comfortable with jobs that require little supervision. My employers have always trusted me because I am naturally motivated and when you're filling a hole in their world that has caused them plenty of trouble they happily reward you for it, won't bother you, and would rather get their sleep than see if their needs are being met. So, now, here is job that requires me to wake people up and make them listen to me and it seems a bit unnatural.

As usual, this post is just getting to long, so I'll wrestle my own limitations in quiet for a while and remain determined to make the distance. I encourage all to continue making the hurdles that slow them, they can be overcome. In the mean time keep the faith.
