If You're Reading This, You're Not Taking Action

Last Update: October 08, 2010

Hey Members - Happy Friday,

This is just a public service announcement about you taking action with your online marketing business...

It's all fine and dandy to surf the forum, read other people's WA blogs & read the lessons here at WA - but if you don't take action with your new found knowledge - you will feel frustrated and burned out very quickly.

Solution? Get a whiteboard and write down your daily action tasks. Such as:

  1. Find a product to promote
  2. Do some keyword research based on the selected product
  3. Write a blog post
  4. Figure out how to make a hyperlink with text

The action tasks don't need to be BIG tasks, if fact - the smaller, the better.

Now here's the important part, Once you have completed a task.

Feel Satisfied About It

Be happy that you have completed a goal take in the glory that you are one more step to making that commission.

Then.. Rinse & Repeat..

Have a swell weekend and keep yourself out of trouble..

How to appreciate being able to take action... Just spent 2 days in the hospital with my sister, emergency visit. Everything is relative. She's OK now, back home, healthy, and I'm back "taking IM action". Taking action feels like heaven by comparison. Thanks Jay.

@famousplumber | There's a heckler in every crowd.. It's all good. Actually, writing this blog post IS part of me taking action as I feel it would be a dis-service of myself not to offer advice to those who need it.

@andys43us | That's funny you mention sticky notes as I was going to mention that in the post. I'm glad you mention that.

@Louise M. | Agreed.. I also think it can be scary because it's venturing into an unknown forest and leaving a comfort zone. This is why I suggest small action steps.

The other side of that coin is that if you are posting this, you are not taking action! Just pokin' ya! I allow myself a little "play" time each day. I take lots of action, still. If all I ever did was take action, I wouldn't have a life!

Oh man..the heading was too tempting to not read. Great advice! I use sticky notes instead of the whiteboard though.

Shoot I read it. lol. You're so right Jay, I think "taking action" scares people away, it sounds big and daunting but it's just a list of simple actions. Completing my daily IM tasks is very satisfying, very. :)
