When you publish a new post or page, WordPress automatically notifies the following site update services.

http://ping.feedburner.com
http://blogpeople.net/ping
http://rpc.pingomatic.com
http://xping.pubsub.com/ping
http://rpc.twingly.com
http://www.syndic8.com/xmlrpc.php
http://sindice.com/xmlrpc/api

Add these in the following area:
Settings > Writing > Update Services
