What happened to respect, professionalism and common courtesy in business, or in fact for that matter life in general??

I joined WA (with absolutely no regrets by the way), in the hope of learning how to build and crreate a successful online business and assumed most people were here to do the same.

I work hard and pride myself on being a professional, kind, courteous and generally helpful person.

This is the type of platform where we practice ethical and professional behaviour. (Isn't it?)

This is not a rant at all, its just that within the past week in true pay it forward fashion, I reached out in a very polite and helpful way to someone who had asked a question.

Wow! not the reaction I had expected. First an insult was thrown at me and then I was deleted from the post. Well as I was reeling from that I was bombarded with a series of private messages to my inbox. When i opened them I was quite shocked as they were insults of a very personal nature attacking me.

I will say with complete honesty that in that moment i would have loved to return the favour in a very colourful and cleverly descriptive manner.

However that moment passed as I remembered, I don't really care how a complete stranger behaves, i needed to own my behaviour, suck it up and move on in my continual pursuit of happiness and success as a true professional.

i am not here to play games or to involve myself in others dramas. I am here to work, for myself!

I am reminded of a quote, I recently read and it rings so true right now.

"Show respect even to people who don't deserve it; not as a reflection of their character, but as a reflection of yours." (Dave Willis)
