Any Biggest Loser Fans Here?

Last Update: December 09, 2009

Hubby and I have watched every episode of The Biggest Loser this season.  The finale was last night...anyone watch it?

I love that show.  No, not because of the "losing weight" context, either.  I've had many issues in life, but needing to LOSE weight has not been one of them - probably the reason I don't do worth a squat in the weight loss niche....lol!

Anyway, I love that show because it shows real people....in a real problem situation that effects every single ounce of their being.  Not just their appearance or their health...but EVERYTHING.  Self-confidence, the way they walk, how they smile, their love life, their financial life....ALL OF IT is effected by this one issue.

And before our eyes, they change it...and THEY CHANGE in much bigger ways than in appearance or their number on the scale.

Now, they work their a$$ off to obtain these changes, but they DO IT - and it is so inspiring.

Naturally, I have been comparing my love for the Biggest Loser to life here in Wealthy Affiliate.

Do you realize how VERY similar it all is?

There are many, many, MANY people who have come here to WA and have gone on to make BIG changes in their lives... and not just in their bank account balance.

I'm one of them  =)

And because of my "been there/done that" experience, there are so many times I want to "go Jillian" on some members.  I want to grab them by their shirt collar and scream at them to get them to know that life changes take work...sweat...tears...discomfort...pain...new choices...new habits....and breaking through barriers that somewhere along your life journey, YOU set for yourself.

Dieting for one day does not make for a life-transformation.

New food choices and activity choices DO.  You can't keep doing the same thing and expecting DIFFERENT results.

Writing one article does not make for a financial transformation either.

Neither does staying in WA for only one month.

It takes consistent action of new choices and activities that are NOT comfortable to you.

Do you know how many of those Biggest Loser contestants wanted to leave after the first week?  Maybe even after the first DAY?

All of them.

Why?  Because it was "too hard".

Look at them now.

Change hurts - but many, many times you will find that change hurts WAY less than staying the same.

Absolutely true that real changes are as a result of consistency in new unconfortable zones of persisitence on the ultimate price.

I too am a Biggest Loser fan. In fact the show was partly the inspriation for me to finally commit to getting in better shape this year. Starting in March of this year, and weighing 254 lbs (I'm 6'3") I have consistently gone to the gym (I hired a trainer and it really helped) and started eating better and limiting myself to 2000 calories per day. I now weigh 200 lbs and feel great!

You are so right on about initial pain and wanting to quit. Why didn't I quit? Two reasons: One I had a deep desire to make a lasting change and two, my trainer...he gave me a reason to be at the gym...I had to since I had an appointment to work out under his guidance. Now there's no way I will ever let myself get that out of shape.

The paralles to internet marketing are really interesting. I have a deep desire to succeed and I have a trainer...really two trainers..... WA and you (I hired you a couple days ago). We're gonna succeed just like I did with getting in shape. Now is the hardest part though....I promise to hang in there. JG

I love that show. My wife and I are addicted. And now to be put on hold until next season. I must say, I was rooting on Danny the entire time! I think it's because he was never really playing the game, he was just trying to change his life! And to end at 191! That's about 30 pounds less than me and I'm in the military! Thanks to your dedication to the WA community! You can be Jillian to me everyday! It's hard here and everyone needs a little encouragement. Seriously, the only money I've made here was a couple bucks cashed out from WA Gold. Thanks again!

Agreed!
I think WA is very much like TBL...

Although with WA, affiliates are trying to fatten their wallets and not thin them out.
