If You Can Read This Landing Page, You Are NOT a member of WA

Last Update: March 01, 2010

I think I've come across the worst landing page in the universe!

It's for a perfectly good product in an "evergreen" niche with lots of secondary audience potential. But I'll willing to bet that the vendor is somewhere crying in his beer about not making enough sales and accusing Clickbank of scamming him out of the setup fee!

I'm willing to overlook the fact that page's layout is haphazard. I'm willing to overlook all the punctuation errors even though the vendor identifies himself as a journalist. No, this is the real crime: the page isn't optimized IN THE LEAST.

No meta description. No meta keywords.  No keywords in an h1 header. No keywords at the top or bottom. No keywords in a URL. No keywords in bold type. It's such a brilliant example of what NOT to do, the vendor can't POSSIBLY be a WA member!

Here's what I think happened:

VENDOR: "I wrote an e-book, and there's a place where I can sell it on the internet! You know something about Web pages--can you make one about the book for me?"

VENDOR'S FRIEND: "Okay."

THE END

But as I said, it's a perfectly good product, and there's absolutely no reason why it can't sell well on a proper landing page with proper article marketing. So I'm going to make a landing page of my own, and I'd like to close with some friendly advice for the vendor:
