My First Semester In Online Marketing: Carson and Kyle Ate My Homework

Last Update: April 14, 2010

Today ends my first semester at WAU--and you're getting the graduation present!

I joined in November, but have been online marketing for four months--an average college semester. I came here via the Travis Sago Bum Marketing method, but I was such a bum I couldn't afford to join WAU right away. In retrospect, that was blessing and a curse: I learned how to write ads and use the article directories, but not really understanding niches, I wrote about products I "liked" as opposed to the products that people were looking for. Total number of sales to date: one.

Despite that, reading through the WAU forums made me realize that apprenticing with Travis had given me a bit of a "head start" over the newbies who wrote of feeling lost and overwhelmed.  I was able to focus on the aspects of article marketing that I knew I needed to focus on. And I think it worked, because I found a starving crowd literally right under my nose!

Since then, I have written only half a dozen articles and done very little backlinking. But I have what I hope you will think is a legitimate excuse: I've been building a web site to be devoted to giving basic training to "raw" newbies: ProfitOnlineForBeginners.com.

I will act as article marketing affiliate for entry-level products in different online marketing "departments." Article Marketing, MLM and Online Wholesaling products have already been selected, but more can be added after appropriate products in Affiliate Marketing, SEO and PPC are brought on board.

And here's the best part: With all due respect to WAU's web space and GoDaddy's domain-only feature, ProfitOnlineForBeginners.com is on a full-fledged web server. That means I can do pretty much anything I darn well please for you--ads, articles, landing pages, even videos. I'll still contribute to EZA and all that, but now you won't have to wait days for approval or fear having an affiliate link rejected.

Looking forward to your feedback and our continued solidarity. Get in touch if you have a qualifying product, preferably under $50. Now it's time for me to leave my site-creating comfort zone and boldly go forth into the brave new world of getting traffic, backlinking and social networking!
