Avoiding a common Aweber error

Last Update: October 23, 2010

Hi WAer's

I originally posted this in the forum , but I though I should post it here as well for those whom may not have ventured into the forum yet.

This is post is mostly for new folks who are going about setting up the Aweber Autoresponce system.

To avoid making a most common error when setting up Aweber read below.

THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT/MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR LIST NAME AT AWEBER BEFORE YOU LINK TO YOUR WEBSITE SQUEEZE PAGE AND OPT-IN FORMS.

The reason why this is so IMPORTANT is because each aweber user has personalized list names and the name you want may already be being used. So you will have to create a list name that is unique to your campaign and ties to your website. This is done to prevent any mismatch of web a pages and mailing lists between different users.

If this set up procedure is not followed properly your visitors will get a message like or similar to this when they sign into your list. Which is defiantly NOT good and will cost you many potential clients. This is a most costly but common error which can be easily avoided by creating your email list name at Aweber BEFORE you link to your page URL

"An Error Occurred

Notice:
Sorry, the account you tried to access was not found in our customer records. To notify the website owner of this message, push the "back" button on your web browser or check some of the selections below for more information.

Not to worry though If you have encountered this problem this is how you correct it

This is taken from FAQ at Aweber,

Because of a mismatch between the HTML published to your site and the settings in your account, the form cannot be submitted successfully.

To correct this issue, you'll need either to change the name of the list back to what it was previously set at, or re-publish the HTML from the web form tool to your site.

The solutions to other common Aweber errors can be found here. This is a direct link to Aweber FAQ.

I hope this post saves you valuable time and many frustrations. :)
