Good Organization Saves Time

Last Update: September 15, 2011

If you're anything like me, after 2 years, or even one year at WA, you have HUGE stacks of notes. I make detailed notes on all of Jay's WAbinars. All pure gold information and I sure don't want to lose any of it. Also, resources from fellow members, hot tips that you don't want to forget and probably will forget if you don't put them in a place you remember. Put all the "how to's" in a place where you can access them fast and efficiently. When you're building a site or working on a campaign, this information makes a big difference. Remember, both the devil and God are in the details. I've been at IM long enough now, so that all the basic mechanical steps are now committed to memory and are somewhat rote. The hot tips contain all the fine tuning details that turn you into a real marketer. It's all in those precious notes. You want to draw on them as much as you can.

Everyone has his own style of organization. I know most of you probably store this material in your computer. I like to keep it in loose leaf notebooks, with tabs and labels, typed, clean and very neat. I keep some things in excel, but not all. I'm spending evenings organizing my notes. Can't hire anyone to do it for me because I have my own system. Organization pays big dividends. Also am extremely busy right now, so anything that saves time is my friend.

Hey buddies, cheers to yours and my organized files!

I'm going to paint it in my office at my house. Huge section by my computer and then a blank wall behind the door. I think I have enough for 70 sq ft. If I like it, I'll do it in the conference room at my real office.

I like that idea better than a white board. Are you painting it in your office? Great idea! I could use it in my studio too.

My solution? I just ordered Dry Erase paint from Idea Paint. I'm going to be writing on my walls now. :)

Adam, I know what you mean. When the pages pile up and nothing is categorized, using the information becomes impossible. That's when things get overwhelming.

Hey Joan was just thinking about this the other day. My office has become a mess since starting with WA. Definetly time to start organizing everything like you say. I;m usually someone who like to stay organized to, So I've started a folder also for my important notes as I don't think leaving everything on the computer is a great idea incase something happens to it and I can't retrieve anything. So I'm writing heaps down and backing some stuff up on memory stick.
