What? No more pine nut mouth?  Pity.

I'm just passing this on to you. It was sent to me this morning, and since USA and much of the rest of the world is in similar trouble, let's try this out. Our job market needs a good boost. Anyway, I'm tired of being poisoned.

Worth trying everywhere. Give it a go world! Time to trust what we buy again.

 

 
Did you see that Diane Sawyer has a special report coming up this week? They removed ALL items from a typical, middle class family's home that were not made in the USA. There was hardly anything left besides the kitchen sink. Literally. 

During the special they are going to show truckloads of items - USA made - being brought in to replace everything and will be talking about how to find these items and the difference in price etc.. 

It was interesting that Diane said that if every American spent just $64 more than normal on USA made items this year, it would create something like 200,000 new jobs! 

WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT WALMART and ON THE LABEL OF SOME P RODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA'

FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM CHINA '

I WAS SHOCKED SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE SINCE IT'S FROM CALIF.

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think while the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets?

70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges? DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA!!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example. The point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!

Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on May 1st and continue it until June 1st. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they might have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, MAY 1 TO JUNE 1st !!!!!!

Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Pass it on, America...... BUY AMERICAN !!!!!

@ Felio: George, the point you make is correct. I understand why companies are looking for cheap resources in order to make their products competitive. As a business person myself, I sympathize with that. I realize much of our technology, parts, and other things are being made in other countries. Many are American manufacturers abroad. The food, toys, other products being imported from China are not being required to pass safety and quality standards that are customary in US. Cheap goods have been flooding our shores. You buy a can opener from Target, and by the weekend, it's fallen apart. That's expensive to me. People have been getting sick, including children. Animals have died. Not acceptable. Change is necessary.
@ dataplextech: Bruce, we are the problem for sure. So many Americans have been cheated of their livelihoods in this transition to a global economy. I realize it's true in other countries as well, but because I'm American, I'm concerned with America. We have to make it possible for manufacturers to manufacture in the USA. Wouldn't hurt to start with some tax breaks. Unemployment problems? I wonder why?

Felio, yes and what we REALLY need to do is boycote American companies like Hewlett-Packard who insist on taking jobs away from the American people and sending them over seas. And this includes all the call centers! But wait! How many of you affiliates are hiring CHEAP labor from the Phillipines and Romania when there are millions of unemployed Americans looking for work? China isn't the problem. Phillipines aren't the problem. Romania isn't the problem. WE'RE THE PROBLEM!

Joan, made in China products could be made by American multi-national companies, eg, Hewlett-Packard Co which make printers and ink. Many companies from all over the world, including Singapore are setting up offices and factories in China to tap their cheap resources of land and manpower. So, buying made in America only is also hurting your own country's companies. In Singapore, our government promotes free trade but does sampling checks of imported products to ensure that they are safe. Our government had tried this 'Buy made in Singapore' campaign before but failed as many people will always want to stretch their dollar to buy more with less money.

China has greatness for sure, but not evidenced by the crappy exports we've been receiving from China the past few, but too many years. Quality of life in the US has plummeted as a result, and our economy has suffered. Excellent craftsmen, people in the US who make things have been put out of business so that we can buy inferior goods that benefits another economy. Our manufacturers have taken their business offshore. Our politicians don't support keeping business at home. Money is being siphoned out of the US in all manner of ways. Pure stupidity! I believe in fair trade, not what we are living with here. Britain's economy has been suffering too. You have to take care of business at home first. This is just more corruption Rob. It's all the same syndrome to me.

I am not American. But I hear you! Britain should try a bit of this strategy too. Not necessarily to get back at anyone but to help ourselves a bit more.
