Pentimento

Last Update: October 16, 2010

Don't usually like to look back, but I needed to get a grasp of where I was, where I am, and where I'm going. Check out all the layers, you know. Sometimes you have to take inventory.

In looking back, I realized what a different person I was when this IM journey started. My brain was different. Back then, I thought IM was going to be easy, a cake walk. I had the naive conception that all these people would be flooding my websites and buying my goodies en masse. I didn't think I had to do anything but supply the goodies and make 'em "good" goodies. At this point in time, I think it's not easy but it is mostly fun. It's still a risky lifestyle for me. A year from now, I suspect it'll be different. I hope easier. Can you just imagine what 5 years hence will look like? How 'bout 10? For ALL of us? Super stars will be super super stars. I'm feeling very tired at the moment, but still have happy thoughts nonetheless. The only thing standing in my way of total bliss is the need to turn a good profit sooner than later. But hey, that's what it's all about. Money flowing in like a river will be the BIG high.

Here's the dilemma...I enjoy getting up to my neck in everything, but I want to get 100% up to my neck in about 6 things all at once. Are you like that too? Is that guttinous? Very frustrating. Can make you nuts. Guess you just have to pick and choose. Well, I don't have to do it today, do I? I'm going to go apple picking instead. It's a beautiful fall day here. Peak season for apples. Pick up the challenge again tomorrow.

Have a happy weekend guys!

Bella parola d'avvero. You're doing okay with 6 things at once. Besides, if you did only one at the time, you'd get nowhere fast.

@Labman: Pretty word, huh? I like it too. This journey is like a canvas that you keep painting out, hence the reason I thought of "pentimento".
@Barnabus: Hi Barnabus. Yes, you have to stick tight to your intentions. I bet the renaissance painters took many breaks. It's amazing what they were capable of doing. You really do get "into" IM and it is a love-hate relationship. Thanks for your comments.
@Jamie Smith: Hi Jamie. Hope you're feeling better. Been missing you. This is the season for apples, all kinds. I had a ball!

Nice 1 Joan, I hope you had a blast picking apples. This time of year is when honey crisp apples are available, which are my favorite. I've been eating lots of those yummy apples over the past few weeks. As for self reflection, I agree 100% that it is always good to reflect on where you've been, where you are, and where you are headed. Great minds think alike once again.

Good Morning Jatdebeaune,
The biggest hurdle of any challenge is the willingness to see it through to the end. Of course IM is always changing, so there never is truly an end, now is there? I hope not. That's what makes it fun. Sort of like one of those love/hate relationships you hear about. Hell, I bet you a big juicy apple, that the renaissance painters took a break every once in awhile. Stay well...Peace.. Barnabus

What a cool word. Never heard it before figured it was something en Francais. Guess I was wrong as the origin apparently is Italian. Thanks for sharing. Isn't it amazing how perspectives change over time. I had that experience when writing "Unleashed" it didn't start out anything like that but as I worked. the canvas changed.
