Principles of Peak Performance

Last Update: November 29, 2011

As many of you probably know I am a big fan of Tony Robbins and I watch many of his free youtube videos to stay inspired.

One of his seminars he talks about having clarity of purpose, and I agree with this statement because if we do not know WHERE we are going or WHY we are doing something then it will be harder to hit the target of success.

I wanted to share with you my thoughts about these principles that create peak performance in individuals no matter what goals they may have.

My thoughts on Human Behavior

I have always been fascinated with human behavior and how one person can have no resources but lots of belief and is able to accomplish what seems to be impossible in most peoples eyes and then I see people who have everything made available to them and they can't seem to get started or they end up worse off because of it.

The difference between clarity of purpose and lack of passion

A good example will be those children who are from very poor neighborhoods and lack education or personal connections with the priviledged but they seem to find a way to reach peak performance and against all odds make a enriching life for themselves.

While on the other hand their are children who are born with a silver spoon in their mouth so to speak and they have all the resources, money and connections anyone would ever want and somehow they end up on drugs, in rehab, going to jail and just a burden on society with a victim mentality.

How could this be? Why does this happen?

My theory is that it is not WHAT you have its HOW you use what you have. Basically if you are poor and you learn how to have clarity of purpose and you condition your mind and body to seek out something better than your current situation then you will have the drive, passion and the determination to do whatever it takes to reach your goals.

Some people seem to believe that it is about WHO you know or WHAT you know that makes the difference, in my opinion those things can help to an extent but it still falls on me to take ACTION.

Wishing upon a star is not going to produce the results I want, Only putting the WORK behind those wishes is going to make things happen.

The principle of peak performance are:

1. Belief - you have to really believe in yourself and what you are trying to do as your first step.

2. Potential - whatever you set your mind upon to do has the potential to become whatever you want it to become.

3. Action - this is probably the biggest part of the whole formula, because belief and potential is not enough you will have to DO something with those principles.

4. Results - I call this the reward, when you start to see the fruits of your labor then it just fuels the belief and the certainty that what you are doing works.

Well this is my thoughts for the day, I hope you were able to learn or use this in your own journey. I hope you enjoy the route to your destination as much as finally getting there.
