Double Rating Stars in Google Local

Last Update: May 14, 2012

Hey Folks,

I wanted to share with you a major milestone in a local clients online presence..

Double Star Ratings in Google SERPs!
This means that I have achieved two rows of star ratings in a single Google listing for the targeted keyword.

Have a look below..

Pretty cool huh!?

This is not as difficult as it seems as one of the rows of stars is based from actual Google Places ratings and the other is from the normal star review ratings I have shown in the past.

Oh Yeah.. and the author image is the result of this too. How's THAT for standing out from the SERP crowd!?

So how the heck did I do this?

I am working on a training resource on how to do this and will update this blog when I have it completed. But in the meantime.. here is a quick rundown of what did.

  • Google places ratings
    - This occurs naturally within SERPs
  • Google Authorship implementation
-You can go to the site and have a look at the clients name at the bottom.
  • Rating Stars on Site
Adding a real testimonial with star ratings on the front page with schema code so those stars get in the SERPs

And that's it!

Now, if YOU were searching for a local service and came across something as visual as that, would that make you click it?

I understand it may seem more difficult that I perceive it is.. but if I said is was near impossible, people may be intimated by it.

Cool stuff Jay, haven't seen that before.
I'll have a look but will also ask the question.
Have you just added a rating to a customers testimonial feedback?

That's exactly right Craig!
They are real testimonials, all I did was add some schema code within the ratings and Google sucked it up and spit out on the SERP

Nice work Jay - It certainly stands out but also gives the user a real sense of confirmation that the site is good - or has been rated that way anyway!
