Vegas According To PotPieGirl
Imagine this...
You walk outside the MGM Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas where a BIG stretch limo is waiting for you. You climb in to find yourself sitting with Kyle and Carson and Jay and Travis.... Ryan and Cian and Eddy and Marcus. The doors close and you're coasting down the Las Vegas Strip...
What would THAT be like?
Or.... Imagine this...
You walk into a private check-in area of the MGM, you give your name, and are then taken to a private elevator where a special key is inserted so you can get to a special private floor in the hotel.
You ride quietly for a few moments and then elevator doors open to a whole other world inside this huge casino resort. You walk off the elevator and staff members stand to greet you.
You are politely directed to the correct room and you begin your walk down the gorgeous quiet hallway until you reach the correct room.
The door to the room opens and you see how awesome it is. This "hotel room" is 2-stories and all glass on the outside wall looking out over the skyline of Las Vegas.
You walk in and take a seat in one of the rooms at a table with all the same folks that were in that limo ride.
What would THAT be like?
Or wait.... here's one better...
Imagine THIS -
You take that same trip on the exclusive private elevator to that same incredible "hotel room", but this time, you're by yourself.
You walk in and sit in the living room area with Kyle and Carson.
Yes, just YOU, Kyle and Carson...that's it.
What is the topic of conversation?
How to make YOU better. YOUR business better, YOUR efforts better. Help with the issues that might hold you back - and real help from 2 guys who know exactly what they're doing....
and they are there at that very moment in time just to help YOU.
What would THAT be like?
Let me tell you what all that was like..
It was AMAZING!
This is my 2nd year being invited to participate in the WA Super Affiliate Conference and again, I am blown away.
Last year, I was a bit in awe and totally didn't know what to expect.
This year... well, this year is a bit different for me. I knew what to expect... I knew the majority of the folks and was so happy to see them again as well as looking forward to meeting new WA Super Affiliates like Eddy and Cian.
But, like I said, something about this year was different for me personally.
2010 was a crazy year for me.
Aside from buying and moving into a new house, my hubby starting his own business, and tons of other "real life" events, business life was very busy, too.
David and I opened Power3Marketing.com and that's been so awesome. There's nothing like knowing you are making a real difference to help people succeed online.
I also stepped way out of my comfort zone in 2010. I went to a Clickbank Mastermind Event in Boise, I got to know a lot of other marketers from all corners of internet marketing, I tried new things, I worked hard, and all-in-all, felt ALL over the place and over-extended.
I believe 2010 was a very important adventure for me as a marketer - I know it makes me more well-rounded and more aware of what's going on in this industry as a whole.
I've learned things I never really wanted to know... I've learned things I didn't even think were out there TO learn. I've met awesome people...and I've met people that perhaps I won't choose to associate with professionally.
I know I can't REALLY help others if I keep myself secluded in one little safe corner of internet marketing... I have to experience all of it - or as much as one little woman can in a years time =)
In short, I had to throw myself in the fire...and that is exactly what I did in 2010.
And let me tell you this... it's a crazy, crazy world out there in the internet marketing industry - just nuts.
It's so easy to get absorbed and consumed by your immediate and direct "world" online...but there is SO much more out there. It is MIND BOGGLING!
But that brings me back to what was so different for me this year at the WA conference in Vegas....
When I sat down at that table in that amazing room surrounded by faces that I know...
I was home.
It didn't hit me right away, either. My hubby and I stayed longer in Vegas and just got home late Monday night. My birthday was Sunday so we decided to stay and celebrate my "youth" Vegas-style.
We were in Vegas for 12 days. That's a LONG time for a Vegas trip. We came out early to meet up with Atlanta friends for Super Bowl and a George Strait/Reba McIntyre concert...had a blast.
Then the WA event....just awesome. Then the hubby and I stayed for a few extra days to have some time together and yes, for my bday.
But on the plane ride home I realized I felt more relaxed...more centered and much less scattered. I know vacation and time away is good for me, but this was more that that.
It was that same feeling you get when you get back to your roots... you go back home. Back to the people that remind you what is important and how to do your best to accomplish what is really important.
None of that "here's my card, what can YOU do for ME?" type stuff I've dealt with all year.... none of that.
Just real people who all want to do real great things online - and those really great things involve helping what IS really important - PEOPLE.
I was back at a table full of friendly faces who each have one main goal online - to help others to get what they want out of their internet marketing experience.
My roots.
Home.
There's a saying - "never forget where you came from"- and I don't...and won't.
And above all, I am DAMN proud that THIS is where I come from.
I come from Wealthy Affiliate.
I come from a safe corner of internet marketing and I do all I can to make it better for those in that corner with me.
I know what the alternatives are... I know what else is out there.
This is home.

PS - I'd like to extend a special "great to meet you" to Eddy and Cian. Both guys are awesome marketers and people. I was thrilled to have them with us at the table this year.
And to Marcus.... tho I felt I've known you for years, this was the first time we got to meet face-to-face and it was a true pleasure.
To Ryan, Travis, Jay, Kyle, and Carson... as always, the pleasure is all mine. You are an amazing bunch of people. I am proud to work with you AND to call you my friends.
Oh, and one last note about the limo ride I talked about when I first started this long post....
Eddy is a BIG BOY. Seriously. My hubby is a big guy, but we had to fold Eddy into that limo - fold him like a lawn chair! haha!
All in all, a fantastic time. Thank you to Kyle and Carson for bringing us all together.
I can't wait to see more new faces next year. And c'mon ladies... I can't go another year being the only girl at the table!
Above all - thank you to all of you for giving me a great home online full of great people.
WA is a great place to "come from"!
