I was so excited!
Started with my W.A. membership a week ago, began day one of the 30 Day Success Plan, and thought, "this is EASY". I knew what I wanted to design a website around, had already researched and no, the market wasn't taken. SCORE one for me! Right? WRONG.
Worked up to day 4 and found that despite my fantastic idea and oh so brilliant "home" & "about me" pages, my site specific keyword(s) would, no matter how I scoured for alternatives, not generate less than 100,000 results. This is because I was targeting a group of people in my area; my part of the world. No matter how I spun it or tried to insert my own finesse, I couldn't make the numbers work in my favor. Suffice it to say the internet is saturated with websites such as I was creating, however, none in my local area. I thought there was a need, in fact, talking to families in the area, I know they are out there, just not "googling" the terms I would need to drive them to my site.
Now I am disheartened, down, and need a boost.
I watched part of the WAbinar about finding a niche and it was encouraging. Yes, I need to finish it and I will. What I gleened the most from it so far was TAKE ACTION. No one is going to do this for me. Just as with my cancer; no one is going to cure it for me. If I sit back, cry, sulk and do nothing it will run it's course and get the best of me. If I fight it with all my will I will know that I've succeeded, I won't give up without a fight! The same goes for this. Every action I take, word I type, lesson I read may not put money in my bank account. But it will accumulate in my life savings of immeasurable worth. Knowing I'm giving this my all despite the urge to curl up and feel sorry for myself is a great gift I am giving myself. Thank you Wealthy Affiliate for this opportunity to not give up on me.
