I am one that enjoys the lessons of nature and this is one that hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday. Here is the lesson:

About a week ago my mom brought me 21 dozen fresh farm eggs. They are so much better than the ones you get in the store. At any rate, I got to thinking about this yesterday so I called my mom to ask her two (2) questions. Question 1-How old are the chicks when you got them? Question 2-How long did it take before you saw any fruit, hen fruit that is? I mean eggs?

The answer to the first question was 3 days old when they were shipped throughthe USPS.

The answer to question number two was 5 months. This got me thinking. 

So, we have to buy the chicks, feed them day after day for five months before we see any kind of results. Yes. But after five months, they are laying more eggs than she can keep up with. So, I help her out and gladly eat a few myself.

Here is the lesson for me. IT TAKES TIME. So don't give up. Suppose after 2 months of spending money on chicken feed and not see any results, they quit. Without question, they would lose everything they put into the project. I have to learn to do the work and be careful not to quit. You will get results. As a farm boy from way back, I was able to see and be a part of nature in a real way. This is one of such a lesson. As I grew up we had over 400 chickens. We had to gather eggs everyday and take them to market.  But I learned that a chicken has to have time to grow before it will produce. In my minds eye I can see the chickens, pigs (hogs) cows, calves and bulls we raised. Wow, what a time. 

Conclusion, remember this story of nature and give yourself time.
