The Importance of a URL in your Resourse Box

Last Update: December 09, 2009

I was reading an email from EzineArticles today, and they were making a good point that I wanted to talk about here.

Why is it important that you put you the full URL of your website besides your anchor text in your resource box?

They were mentioning that when your article is being picked up by ezine or publishers your anchored text has a good change to get "unlinked" in the process. If you have your complete URL as a back up, however, the link to your site will still be there.

This is a very important point.   Many marketers forget that the directory where they submit their article is NOT the only place where the article will show.  If they are good enough article they will be picked up by publishers.

As a matter of fact there is a track of this on your EZ back office. It should show the number of times your articles has been published.  I love this number personally. It shows me that my article has multiplied without me doing anything. I love it :)

However, if I have no link to my site for that article there, what good is it to me? Not much, but have my article read for FREE.

Want to see proof that your article has actually been published places where you haven't posted it?

Just Google your author's name, and chances are that you will find some of those sites.  Every time I Google my name I discover my articles on sites I didn't know existed. Pretty neat, huh?

So, make sure you are writing those nice and long enough articles and make sure you put your entire URL at the bottom of your resource box, and your articles will be ready for their long journey.

Thanks for the advice, I will make sure that I do as you suggest. I now have 3 live articles with ezine articles and am exploring how to get them posted with other folks as well. I have 5 more ready to put in the hopper. My goal is to do 5 to 10 articles a day, but I am not there yet.
