Link Exchange Request The Right Way! :)

Last Update: June 18, 2010

Ok, the "right way" is a bit pretentious. I meant "just-my-way-but-it-works". :)

So just a quick post here to tell you that I've started doing some link exchange with some blogs even though I know one way links matter more but don't worry I'm working on high PR one way links as well ;). So yesterday I send a few link exchange requests by email and received a reply from one of the blogger (for now!), there it is:

"Hi Louise! Thank you! Yes, I agree - affiliate marketing is simple...don't ya love it?

I actually visited your site yesterday (blogcatalog) and I really like it...very cool! I added the link to my blog!

Thanks again...and Have an awesome day! Oh, if you would ever like to guest post on my blog...just let me know!

Take care,
Brenda"

Awesome, right? I don't even have to ask if I can be a guest blogger, she's asking me! :) She sounds really cool. She mentions blogcatalog 'cause I find blogs through blogcatalog and add the authors as my friends just before sending them the link exchange request so that they can know more about me and my blog in the meantime.

Of course, she replied positively because of the email I sent her. I'm not saying my email was brilliant but it was personalized, and that matters.

 Here it is:

"Dear Brenda,

I've just visited your blog and I must say I like it! I like your writing style and how you keep affiliate marketing simple, because it is! :)

I'm an affiliate marketer as well and recently launched my affiliate marketing blog called "The Purple Choice" that you can find at www.CoolAffiliateMarketingGuide. com.

I'd like to ask you whether it would be possible for you to add my website to your blog roll (under the title "Cool Affiliate Marketing Guide" if you can).

I already added yours on my home page.

Thank you again for writing such a nice and inspiring blog!

Have a nice day,

Louise M."

I even think I could have written a better email you know. So, in a word, don't send preformatted emails. Do as you would do in "real life" or if you had that person on the phone. Send the email you would like to receive. Take that time. It pays off!

Of course, I picked blogs that have a higher PR than mine so I have to be twice as convincing to make them link to a low PR website. I just keep my emails simple and true, as in mostly everything I do. It's the best option.

That's it for today folks!

~ Louise

Hey Louise, I really like the way that you did this. I get e-mails sometimes to post a link on my blog but they all look like they are copy pasted letters. If someone doesn't have the courtesy of writing an e-mail, I don't have the time to respond to them. lol @Joan's comment

I'll keep your post in mind. I have 2 blogs, so I can avoid the 2-way linking.

Thanks, Louise! This is great. I've bookmarked this post and will return to it when I am prepared to do some link-exchange requests.
