The power of celebrity endorsements

Last Update: December 21, 2009

In the distant past I read somewhere that if there is a brand or name associated with a product - Tiger Woods with Gillette, or not as the case may be, then the public will search for the brand or celeb name in Google as a lead in to finding the product

Why I'd not thought of this before I don't know

So for the industry I'm in, I think I'll get a big list together of which celebrities favour which products then write articles with their names in the title.

And the hotter the celeb, the better the product. And many of the Hollywood celebs are really into some bizarre niche products.

Hmm, what does Tiger Woods like, apart from loose women that is..

Yeah the Oprah thing had a huge presence in the press. It was mainly down to people selling crap and saying 'As seen on Oprah' whether it was or not! Heard of this method before and only really used it for polls - you know the sort 'Hot or Not' stuff - great for linking to CPA offers by the way :)

That's a great point. It's all about leveraging, right? And as far as Tiger, I'm thinking you could promote pre-paid cell phones and condoms!
