G+ Profile, 8 hrs in

Last Update: April 13, 2012

Yup, over the week I've spend about 8 hours trying to get my Author pic in Google SERPs, and no dice.  Here's the forum topic, in case any one wants to see https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/wa_forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=94490

Originally my pic was showing up in the richsnippits tester, but now it's not.  I've also changed got a rel="me" tag going somewhere. If anyone has any experience with this, some advice would be nice.  Just about every tutorial out there is different, so I don't know who to listen to.

BTW the richsnippits tool is saying I'm 'verified'.

I'm thinking maybe the problem is that I've got the blog as a business page and a personal blog?

I've got a +1 button going to my business profile, but an about me page going to my personal blog.

:\

Hi, if you post or PM the url I'll have a quick look and see if something doesn't look right. Also keep in mind that even if you have everything setup correct, you still need to wait for Google to update its cache etc on your site.

I've sent you a PM. The problem is that I got everything set up, saw my mug in richsnippets tester, waited a week, then nothing. So I changed things up a bit (different blogs have different tutorials), and now my pic has disappeared from the snippets tool (and still not in Google SERPs).

Thank! It's worked now - sort of. I was able to get my pic to show up for a category-page that was found in the SERPS. Still not there for my main keyword/homepage, but something is better than nothing.

Hi, After doing a site:yourdomain.com I see the pic is on home page and a few other pages, you may find its only appearing on the pages Google re-visited. (not sure about that)

It's strange why it doesn't appear when searching the domain keyword phrase.

I see the Rich-Snippet tool is now displaying profile image too, plus it's been updated a little.

Sweet. I see it's working now. The only thing I changed was the google+ in the footer and I wrote out an actual bio on the about me page, so I guess it was one of those. Either way, I now have a working site that I can use as a reference for my others. Thanks.

Did you add yourself as a "contributor" to your website (within your google plus account) after you had set up the author meta's? If not, you should do this.

I think so. My head is spinning from all the lingo, but I have my personal profile as contributor, and I have it listed as "website" in the +1 page.
