First, I'm very new to this venue, and suffer from information overload. Second, I'm old as dirt. I know zip about Internet technology. While I was born and raised in the Maryland suburbs of Metro DC, I now live in Delaware in order to be close to my aging mother. I have a BA Plus in English Studies from the University of Florida (late returning college student), and am 6 credits short of Paralegal certification. The latter was one of my better mistakes, except insofar as it added to my English lexicon. Married once. Didn't take. No children.

I am WordPress-phobic, but with the help of a friend here at WA, I'm wending my way through the process, albeit at the speed of a late-night stroll. The upside to my experience here involves meeting new people, and discovering the incredible generosity of spirit I find among them. These folks never cease to amaze me.

Oh, in my former life, I planned, organized, and executed major events. How I loved that work! Now it's on to something new.......

hi stacy - you're a veteran compared to me - when i went to school they didn't have history - lol - nevermind computers - the good news is that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks - even if it goes as fast as pushing a watermelon through a garden hose - and to ditto your comment - there are some very helpful people here that will push us aging, arthritic dinosaurs through it all!

Hi Stacy, thanks for following me. As I’m new to WA there’s lots to learn, but it seems to be a great online community with like minded people. Great to see you here and congratulations on joining, Adrian :))

Hey Stacie, as far as I know I'm the only guy my age who really knows what I'm doing. There might be a few more but most are around Kyle's age or older. I can confidently say Internet Marketing is easy to me though. I spent a large portion of my sophomore year in college (I found WA my Freshman year and didn't heavily act on it till summer) and either hit the books or did Internet Marketing. Probably should've been a little more socially active, but it's paid off big time. I'm expecting 250k or more traffic on my new site every month and I plan on hanging out with my friends a lot more this upcoming year. ;)

I think it's all really about staying at it, keeping your focus, and acting on something you love doing. In reply to your comment, you seem pretty young to me in that photo above and look very pretty too.

Hi, Seth. Thanks so much for all the encouragement. You have one thing right about what I'm doing: acting on something I love. Otherwise, it's a little slow going, but I'll get there in due time. Also, thanks for the kind words. The photograph you see is the only one I had, and it's blown up from a picture in which my face is about....one-eighth to one-quarter inch high. Therefore, it's it's fuzzy enough to obscure all the marks of age, which I don't plan to divulge, here. ;)

Again, thank you for taking time to introduce yourself, and to encourage my efforts. So far, no tornadoes, and my house is still intact. That has to count for something! ;)

Congrats on doing so well in your own efforts, and I hope to get to know you better over time.

Although I've been using the Internet for researching and purchasing for.....way too long, this will be my first foray into attempting to earn a living online. I am excited and thrilled, and feel like a deer that just saw its reflection in a rifle sight. I went back to college late in life and, much to my surprise, did exceedingly well. Now, if I can just get *that* mind-set back, like Dorothy, I have no doubt that I will find my way through Oz, and get back home to find that my house wasn’t just destroyed by a tornado. Possibly because I have a tendency toward reclusiveness, my reptile brain is screaming, “Run Forrest! Run!” as I am asked to……network.

Brand yourself, get those articles out there, and give it some time. There is no other "magic" formula, despite what the "gurus" tell you. Glad to know you.
