My name is John. I have three beautiful daughters and one handsome young man to my wife Susan. I am a long haired hippy who loves Slayer, Exodus, and other thrash metal, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Doors, Greatful Dead, and other classic rock, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams I, II, & III, Johnny Cash and other country music.
I am very interested in science, especially physics. Also, I am interested in computers, having taught myself everything I know about them. I have tried Internet Marketing on and off for years now, but I have never really made any money.
My goal is to make enough money so that I can be home with my family, in our own home and not have to worry about money to pay the bills, or get presents for the family, or anything else that they need (or want). I know it's possible, but time is definitely something I do not have much of.

Thank guys, I really appreciate the warm welcome. This place is incredible! So much to see, so much to do. Phantacid, I might just take you up on that offer - some of these tools are a little tricky and it would make things easier if I understood them more. Well, I'm gonna go try to write some articles and submit them. Wish me luck!

Hi John - you asked about keywords (sorry for the delay by the way - was away for the weekend).

Firstly there are no hard and fast rules to guarantee results. In terms of writing the article what you are doing with you 'make your computer faster' key phrase seems right - find a good key phrase, use it exactly in the title and then 7 - 10 times in the body.

In this case though, because there are so many returns on Google, you are up against it in competition terms. Simply put that phase and the wider subjects is not a representative of a small enough niche to be sure of search engine results. There are lots of experts out there! I would guess to that many websites will be selling services / software to speed you pc up and the like.

That is not to say there isn't potential however. With the above in mind you may want simply to experiment with different but related key phrases. For example interchange 'computer' with 'PC'. Even us the operating system as a key word instead of computer. Also look at various sentence types such as: 'ways to..' / ' easy ways to.. ' / 'effective ways to .. / ' how can I ...'

It's not my area of experitse but with a little playing you should be able to find a few phrases with smaller returns. Also remember that while you should stick exactly to a low return key phrase for the title body - this doesn't mean you shouldn't still put the other more popular keywords / phrases into your article.

Anyway hope that helps a little

Mornin again John - sorry my wording was a little loose, I'll clarify.

Regarding the title: Once you have found a phrase with under the advised 5000 returns in Google (searched for using quotes) then it's well advised to use this as your title. If you're doing your own HTML then put this in the tag also.

If, for example, the phrase - "ways to speed up windows" - has a low return and suits your article then using this as your title will exactly match the search niche you've just found. You should then be looking to repeat the words 'way/s', 'speed up' and 'windows' in the body. At this point you don't need to repeat the whole phrase each time just the individual keywords. I'll change slightly 7 - 10 and say actually between 5 - 10 is good depending on the length of your article. A short article with a key word used 10 times is likely to seem over the top to both search engines and visitors.

Regarding other keywords / phrases: Along with your exact wording niche you should also select and use some the other keywords at a similar or lower density - 'PC', 'computer', 'laptop', 'how to ..' etc.

It becomes second nature after a while but i should add that i do this as part of website optimisation rather than article marketing. That in mind check out WA member Travis' tips on bum marketing as he's definitely the man for that. I also recommend buying a keyword tool as these can tell you much more about what is being searched for and what phrases are good to go with. I use Keyword Analyzer but there are several out there - check out what Travis uses as that's probably the best.

Hi again. I hope things are going good for you. You said to give you a shout if I needed anything explained. Well hopefully this will be right up your alley. It's about keywords for my article. I read on this site that you should use your keyword (or keyword phrase in my case) about 3 - 7 times in your article and also in your headline. Also, that you should find a keyword phrase with less than 5000 search results. Well, I wrote an article titled "How To Make Your Computer Faster". I used the keyword phrase "make your computer faster" - I figured I could work that into my article several times. The only thing is when I use Google to check the search results, it comes back with over 105,000. I think this is waaaaaay to many, but I can't come up with anything better that I can work into my article a few times.
Any suggestions? I'm very new at this whole keyword and optimizing for search engines thing. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Hi P,
Thanks for the ideas and the explaining. I am going to use your suggestions and try to find a better wording for the keyword phrase.
I am still a little confused about something though, you said
"find a good key phrase, use it exactly in the title and then 7 - 10 times in the body."
and at the end you say
"Also remember that while you should stick exactly to a low return key phrase for the title body - this doesn't mean you shouldn't still put the other more popular keywords / phrases into your article."
Am I supposed to use the EXACT keyword phrase 7 - 10 times in the body of the article and if so, does it have to be EVERY word? Or do I just put the low return in the title and the others in the body?
Thanks again for your time and patience, I really appreciate the help. If I can somehow ever return the favor, just say so.

Hi P,
I think that was the answer I was looking for. It cleared up a lot of things that I didn't even know how to ask. I'm going to check out Travis' stuff now.
Thanks again for all your help.

You can make it...because you will have a strong cheering team in your family. Once they are your motivating factor...you will know the reasons for carrying on. It will not be easy but dedicate yourself to success no matter how frustrating it seems. I have not given up yet...just changed my website and going to start three new campaigns.
I wish you all the very best...

Thank you, Judi, for the encouragement. I need all of that I can get. And good for you for not giving up, I plan to stick with it also, even if it takes 50 years or more to make any money. My only problem is making myself write articles more than what I am. I started writing my first one (since joining WA) about one week ago, and it's still not done. It's big enough to break it into two parts (so far), but I need to be more disciplined with this.
Well, good luck to you and thank you for the offer to help. (Do you know anything about keyword optimizing for articles?)
John
