So I am now in the top 5 for some really competitive keywords. I am glad I decided to keep trucking along and not give up on my site.

Still learning as I am going and applying what I am learning to my second site which I have really high hopes for.

The paid SEO services are REALLY helping me to automate things that I would normally have to do manually. It is semi-automatic but every bit helps

Monetizing My Site

I did a sanity check and I am realizing that maybe affiliate marketing may not be for me. Or at least not for me right now.

I have never been a seller, but I have always been comfortable with sharing my knowledge.

I have some affiliate links to wealthy affiliate on my site as well as some clickbank affiliate links. In addition to that I have some Adsense ads.

I also have a referral link to a paid survey site called cashcrate

Since creating the site in November 11, I have not made one affiliate sale. But the results of the Adsense and Cashcrate site are very good.

What do these have in common? My website is having a good conversion rate for things that are FREE.

This month alone my adsense earnings are at $34 and the month is not over yet.

Also getting a lot of referral signups to cashcrate. Some cashcrate members make over $1,000 per month just from their referrals. I use the cashcrate service myself and make anywhere from $35 to $87 per month. I'm already looking at $79 this month. It is easy money when you know what you are doing.

Next Steps

I'm removing the affiliate links in my sidebar but still keeping them on the site. I'm gonna look into CPA offers. based on my conversion rate for cashcrate I think this is very promising for my site

I'm going to add more content to the site so that i can get even more traffic coming in for some long and short tail keywords.

Also adding content to my second site. Watching Youtube videos on the subject really helps me come up with ideas.

Gonna keep using my tools and possibly add one or two more.

My first website is already paying for itself and then some. At this rate it will soon cover my monthly WA membership fees. 

Traffic Update

In my last blog I was at around 90 visits per day. Since then my site hit a peak of 130 per day and still climbing! I downloaded a rank tracker wordpress plugin which lets me see my rank for certain keywords and how many hits I had for that keyword. Cool tool.
