A Freakin' Landlside of Traffic...

I have asked this author for approval to share this story and although I am not going to give the exact title of the article, I wanted to share this with you to show you the potential of authoring content at StreetArticles.com.

Less than 5 days ago an article was submitted to StreetArticles.com on a popular book, a review of sorts. Here is a chart outlining the traffic (the first four days).

This has also lead to 5,000 click-through's to the authors website. :)

I know many of you will find this "jaw dropping", but the fact of the matter is that there are keywords like this everywhere!

Think about it this way...

There are many popular items, many season items, many new products and services, and many media events that can be taken advantage of throughout the year.

I have personally taken advantage of a few of "media" events that were popular to receive large influxes of traffic.

Everything you watch on TV, read in the news, product you use, story you hear (or tell) or seasonal event could serve you very well in terms of traffic and rankings! Keep your eye out and author content regularly!

I already know what the article was, lol. It has 68,000 views yesterday. He's at the bottom of the 1st page via the keyword he's going after with over 100 Facebook likes. Thanks a lot for sharing this.

Just re-checked. He has 180 Facebook likes & 181 SA likes. Pretty ridiculous.

P.S. I actually learned something by seeing this. It would be nice if he actually uploaded a picture of who he is though.

Think I know what article that was, a friend from the UK posted something about that book the other day on FB. I also noticed it ranks #1 on google.co.uk and #4 & #5 on .ca and .com
I guess the article ranks better for the UK as it's also using the UK spelling for the color.

I agree that there is a significant amount of topics on which you can write and consecutively receive significant amounts of views and traffic, but it is not always easy to relate it to your own niche. For example what was the niche that was aimed with the 3 articles that you have wrote Kyle? I find it difficult to relate news and hot topics with different niches.

Agree- How do I earn money on Charlie Sheen quotes?
kyle Premium Plus
Charlie Sheen gear (hats, shirts, etc), downloads related to Charlie Sheen and TV shows and movies he has been in, Charlie Sheen ANYTHING really...and you could also earn revenue through ads on your site.

Thanks, Kyle. It is true what you are saying, you have to be focused on the news and can sometimes build a business around something that is of significant importance to the world at the moment, but as the significance of the news diminishes - so will the interest in the products that you are promoting. You have to find new promotional channels constantly to sustain the popularity.

Thanks for answering.

I actually tested this out and made a few quick sales (t-shirts) as tons of people were buying Charlie Sheen "quote' shirts during this time. There is lots of potential regardless of the niche.

Kyle, when you did this. Did you buy your own domain for the shees quotes, create your own blog, use an existing website or did you put affiliate links in the article? Just trying to learn. Thanks

You could set up a free blogspot website to test the market...and then if it is working out, then you could potentially scale into a domain. That is what I would suggest.

Nice work!
Google Alerts is a good one to use for watching trends and specific keywords.

That works wonderful for niche specific news that you can then write about at SA (or on your website). Also you can set up "new product" alerts within Google Alerts to be in the know when new products/services are being released within your respective niche(s).
