The Google Adwords Support Flippy Floppy

Last Update: May 02, 2012

Google...where have you been all of our lives!

I remember back in the day (in my early 20's) when I started using Google Adwords and I was considered one of their "power advertisers". In fact, I had my own account manager named "Robyn" that I could call whenever I wanted.

I had a direct contact within Google that could pull strings for me and get answers that the normal folk could not get access to. I even went to the Google Headquarters and met with her and she gave me an entire tour of Google which was pretty awesome.

I felt that Google had my back when I needed it...

But then something strange happened. Robyn called me one day to say she was moving to another area of the company and that I would be handled by the "new person" (whos name has left me).

This was back in 2006 I believe that this was the unravelling of Google's premier support. They had reached a point where their advertisers became less of their focus and their users (the people who search) became their core focus.

Advertisers would just be there (wouldn't they). If it wasn't me in there paying for the traffic, it would be someone else. Regardless of the piles of money I was sending their way, I was replaceable and there was no sense in Google paying for people to support me or anyone else...not from their perspective anyways?

What happened after this?

Well, I definitely lost a bit of trust in Google. My new "direct contact" was useless and knew a fraction about the Google Adwords platform that I knew and even recommended they create campaigns for me (which I tested and found that there "campaign specialists" had no idea what they were doing.

Then one day this support was completely gone. Their number didn't work and then Google moved to a generalized support number.

Where is my GOOGLE FRIDGE?

And what really "Irked" me was that when my account reached 1,000,000 clicks (yes, I far exceeded ONE MILLION clicks in adwords), I was supposed to get a Google Fridge...no dice.

And then their support number disappeared...

And then they shut down over 1 million Adwords account in a few big "chops"...

And then their support became completely automated...meaning that you could not even get a personal response from any of their lines of support.

Then the other day something amazing happened...

I got a lame letter package from Google.

I opened it up and I unfolded a piece of cardboard that turned into a Google Support Box. NO WAY!

Google offers support? Since when...

The little cube includes the Google Adwords information for:

  • Phone Support
  • Email Support
  • Chat Support
  • Adwords Resources
  • Adwords Community

Because I got access to this information (and I know everyone does not have it), I want to share it with everyone. So here are the Google Adwords contact details if you ever have any issues:

Phone:1-866-246-6453
Email: support.google.com/adwords/go/contact
Chat: support.google.com/adwords/go/contact
Help Center: support.google.com/adwords
Adwords Community: www.en.adwords-community.com

That is my Google Adwords story in a nutshell. I hope that this contact information can help you out if you have been struggling to get in touch with Google. :)

I did used to get some really cool stuff around the holidays, I will take a photo and add to this post when I get a chance. The fridge would have come in handy on Friday nights when I need a fresh Google beer after a fresh Google Panda update.

...a fridge...how interesting! Did you really want that ugly thing Kyle ;) ...lol! I received the same correspondence. The box "popped" out at me and I let out a little scream!

LOL, yeah I actually was looking forward to the fridge. I am not sure where it would have gone...perhaps the "man cave", but it will have been a cool spot to stuff my coconut water and redbull (and maybe some beer!).
I got a laptop light and a mouse from google. lol

Yeah, they used to send some awesome gifts, in particular at Christmas. One day I will see if I can dig them up from my Google Box that is stuffed away somewhere!
