Hi, my name is Mat Hultquist and I live in Simpsonville, South Carolina. I am currently self-employed as a CPA and have been for about 12 years.

I have been a member here at WA for about 2 years and have had some successes and some failures. I teach what I have learned through my blog at http://www.IMSpeed.com. I designed it to help others succeed in Internet Marketing because I know it can be very overwhelming.

Hi ! :)
The link to your "internet marketing control" is broken, although I'd like to join your list as I've read one of your post about a forthcoming interview of Kim Roach and I'm sure it'll be awesome. Can you send me the link to be added to your list ? thx, Louise M.

Feel free to sign in there, that'll get you on my list. And keep an eye on the step by step campaign I do, I think it will help a lot of people understand IM a little more.

Thanks!

Hey Mat, well, I'd really like to start at the very beginning to make sure I make the right steps and make no bad habbits, lol. My first questions would have to be about how to find the right niches to be successful ASAP.

1. What are the biggest things to evaluate and research about a product to sell to figure out if theres quite a bit of potential success and how hard it would be to write an article on?

2. When writing the article, what exactly are the points you need to hit on the most to put people in the buying state of mind for when they would click on your hop link?

3. When you are done writing an article and creating say a squiddo lens, what happens after that? How do you get it put into the search engines under keywords that you want to use for people to find your article?

4. When you have it all setup, how exactly do you monitor every article you put up and how much you are making?

Those are a few generic questions I have, maybe I can come up with some more detailed questions once these, are answered, thanks!!!

Hey man, sorry if this is a late reply, I never check these buddy msgs!! Hopefully you didn't send this too long ago?

Let's see if I can fit this into this box. If not, I can PM you.

1. There are a couple guidelines I go by when evaluating a potential product or market to sell to. The first is does it fall into the health, wealth or happiness categories. USUALLY, if you pick a market or product in one of these categories, you can't go wrong. This is because these markets typically carry a lot of emotion with them. And if you have a potential customer whose emotional temp is high, you don't have to do too much to get the sale. One other area are people who are fanatical about their hobby or career. For example, people that collect star wars figures or star trek stuff. These people go nuts to get their hands on things like this.

You can pretty much write an article on any subject, even if you don't know anything about it. To get familiar with a subject and the lingo, I usually go to a forum for that niche and just read what people are talking about. Look at some of the common questions. Then I'll go to Yahoo Answers and look at the most popular questions in that particular market. Finally, I'll go to Ezinearticles and on the front page they list all of the categories for articles. I'll go find articles on my topic, read them and get ideas for my own articles.

2. You have to hit on the "pain" points. What I mean by that is from your reading of the forum and Yahoo answers, you'll find the questions people have. Usually these questions are ways to solve a problem. For example, if your niche was acne and a common question was "how do i get rid of back acne?" or something like that, you could title your article "3 sure fire ways to eliminate back acne" or something like that. Then in the article, give them the 3 ways to get rid of it. Then the bio box is where you get them to your site. You have to write something that will continue to trigger their pain, but make them want to click through to your link. This takes practice. I encourage people to read through the top articles in Ezinearticles and look at the bio boxes. Would they make you want to click through? If so, use the same style in yours.

3. First you have to make sure you use your keywords in the titles (of your article and lens titles), then you have to have it in your article body or module body in squidoo. You also want to make sure you make your keyphrase anchor text in your bio box and in the lens itself.

There is a little more to this, but this will get you started. Then once you get them published, you generally wait. Because Ezine and Squidoo are popular sites in Googles eyes, googles spiders crawl them all the time. If you have your keywords in the article and lens enough, G will know what your article is about and index it. This is when it will start to show up in the search engines. This can sometimes take a few weeks or longer. There are some other methods to get it indexed quickly that would take up a ton of space here. Once you get through this, let me know and I can type up some step by step instructions on how to get it indexed quicker.

4. You'll know how much you are making through the affiliate site, like Clickbank. They have stats that will show you how many clicks and sales you have made. Also, Ezine articles has stats showing you how many views your articles have gotten and how many URL clicks they have gotten.

As you learn more and more, there are some things you can add to your links that will track which clicks came from which article, etc. so you can track EXACTLY where sales came from. Learn the basics first and then we can come back to that.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it was too confusing or you have other questions.

Thanks,
Mat
