To Our Suffering Members
Last Update: July 07, 2012
As you probably know, storms, fires, floods and high temperatures have been striking many parts of the country. Some folks have been without power for long periods. Some have lost or had severe damage to their homes. There also has been deaths and suffering. Since our members are part of the general population being threatened, some have had damage to their properties and suffered in other ways. Because we live far apart, it is difficult at such times to help each other, but the members here are very sympathetic and are lifting the spirits of those needing help. That is what WA such a great place. We care about each other. John

The heat has been unbearable here and I live in an old house so only have AC in the bedrooms. Luckily this is the only problem we're having. Keeping the pets secluded but safe. The fridge couldn't handle it tho...so new fridge in order. The elderly are at a high risk because they like it warm so don't always take advice to keep the AC running. Waiting for my air conditioner to konk out...been running 24/7 for far too long.

I am happy you are O. K. Due to global worming the climate is changing drastically. I am living other part of the world. We are also facing acute climate condition. In North Bengal (India) is flooded due to heavy rain and in South Bengal (India) where I am living (in Kolkata) we are facing tremendous heat ranging 38 degree to 44 degree Celsius.

So true John, and I am grateful for all the support this place gives. Good news in our area, the heat finally broke, but not before killing two elderly people yesterday, it was brutal and took a toll on me for sure. Thanks for all you do also John.

We are bracing for more here, possibly late tomorrow.... Just got my power and internet back 2am yesterday after 2 days. One year and 2 months ago we were hit by those tornadoes that passed thru Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina,Tennesee... tennis ball sized hail... I have never seen anything like it and hope I never do again... There was no where to run and no where to hide. There was not a window or a skylight left... the cedar siding looked like it had been beaten with a very big mallet. My son and I huddled in a small coat closet until it passed. The repairs on my house were just finished a couple of weeks ago.
