When to give up?

Last Update: August 20, 2012
I have a good question today. I've been wondering about this the whole weekend.

When is it time to give up?

I know we never ever ever give up. But how long do we stick to a certain project before we move on to the next one?

I have been working on this certain project for a while. I have 10 awesome articles, my keyword phrase is really good. Jaaxy shows monthly searches as "24" and estimated traffic as "5", QSR as "322" with a green dot at KQI, as well as SEO Power at 85. I got the domain name and I have really good content.

The only problem is I have not made one cent yet. I don't know what is going wrong with this one. Is it time to call it a day with this one and move on to the next project?

What is your opinion? how long do you stick to one specific project before moving on to the next one?

I think many will have different thouhgts onl this topic...we will see...I too have wrestled with this issue as one of my sites gets some traffic and very rarely gets a sale...so I have tweaked my site about 9 times added content a few times redesigned entire site.....had recieived some opinions and all seemed to be thumbs up.... still 500 visitors not one sale....may be 1000 no sales even at 2000 at times no sales....CTR seems to be 10-15% at times....so is it just the product is it a slow seller???? How long to hang on....me...I still have it in reality just waiting to see if Christmas will give me some sales or not and if not....good bye I have learned alot....at the same time to get a kw with enough monthly visitors is worth while giving more traffic....but at the same time just leave it sit there and see what happens....see what happens to it learn from it....no sense in just letting it go to waste...imagination......then who knows maybe you hit maybe not but you will learn more in the process I am stiill learning on mine...but mostly stubborn...:)

I suppose it's not just how you tweak your website but what service you are offering or what you are selling. I know a girl who is selling man made diamond jewellery - she had to print an apology on her website because she was sold out and waiting for more stock ... even that was clever.

Monthly searches as 24? Thats really low. Not sure about Jaaxy, but in Google Keyword Tools, its an average over a year, so you may not get a steady X number per month. And even if you are number 1 on the first page you will only get about 17% of the clicks.

Are you actually getting any traffic? Did you set up Google Analytics to check this?

Are there any other keywords that you can use with a higher Search but about the same QSR (under 300 is awesome but under 400 is ok)?
