You Don't Have To Be The Best Fisherman

Last Update: June 03, 2012
I have enjoyed fishing ever since I was very young. The anticipation while you wait for the tug on the line, the adrenaline rush when you feel the hit and while you fight the fish, the excitement when you land your catch...! Unfortunately, I'm not a very successful fisherman. I never catch anything consistently. I can be at a lake surrounded by other fisherman and watch them pull in fish after fish, but never get a bite. But I NEVER GIVE UP! I will go back week after week and try again!

Internet Marketing is a bit like fishing. You try and try but never really feel like you are getting any closer to "landing the big one." The trick is you have to ask the person that just caught a whopper for some advice, then USE the advice to make adjustments. If you continue to cast THE SAME bait THE SAME way to THE SAME spot, you will get THE SAME results!

The thing is, by asking for help and trying different things, I am getting better at fishing... and at IM. If you want to succeed, you can't be afraid to ask for help, and YOU CAN'T GIVE UP! As long as you keep trying and following the advice of people who have succeeded, you will reach your goals!

Have a good night!

And creating a business online is much like fishing in that everyone that has created success has their own formula..they have taken different steps to get there and they are likely doing something that is different than the next person. This is just like fishing!

Great fisherman have their own formula that works for them. The right bait. The right speed. The right depth. The right location. The right intuition.

They are the same in that there are a million ways to accomplish the same thing, how you get there will likely differ from the next person and will never be perfect. That is OK!

The best book I ever read on this subject is called Mastery: The Keys to Success and Long-Term Fulfillment by George Leonard. It talks about how you see little to no results at first and provided you keep at it all of a sudden things start to bbom. Just like fishing.
