FTC Ruling Impacting Blogging For $$'s

Last Update: September 05, 2010

Hey WA Buddies!

If you've read my tutorial on Blogging for $$'s, there is never any intention to mislead you on any marketing plan.  I must append the earlier post, Blogging for $$'s by adding a most recent FTP update.

Please check the recommended company links found inside of my tutorial and post..., "Blogging for $$'s, 5 Key Secrets" to read policies of those companies.  Make certain they pay out.  Some may not if you form a product review but the customer only clicks on a link.   Be certain to make sure that payouts are based on product purchase for blog post credit.

FTC Ruling

You can use pen names for different blogs targeting different micro niches.  It's your call.

  • It is always wise to protect your identity whenever you can...
  • If you have to form a different blog targeting different micro-niches, it would be wise to use several pen names...
  • You could use your first name and change the last name..
  • I tried to add this link to the tutorial but the WA system would not allow it...or maybe I didn't do something correctly.  I tried 3 times.

FTC Ruling Affecting Blogging -- Full Disclosure

The media had mistakenly told the public that there was a $11,000 fine for bloggers reviewing products for advertisers and misleading even a larger number of "minority consumers"..., whatever that means.  The fine is not true because advertisers are held liable for any deceptive advertising, not the bloggers.  So far the FTC is not watching bloggers because many of them have stuck to full disclosure, as far as the FTC knows.  If there is criminal wrongdoing appearing heavily on some blogs, then the FTC will step in.
