Hi all,
My name is James. I've been disabled for the last nine years and thought I would try my luck at internet marketing. This will be my first attempt to earn an income online. I looked all over the web for ideas, and yes I was tempted to buy into some of those get rich quick schemes. Then I found this place. I scoured the internet to find a bad review about Wealthy Affiliate, but much to my surprise I didn't find a single one.
I hope that my initial investment of $39.00 into Wealthy Affiliate University will lead me to understand what internet marketing is all about. If after the first month I think IM is something I can do, I will continue my membership. You know what they say though, "I can't never could do nothing". I'm not one to say I can't very often - I can and I will make this work for me!!
I am a complete newbie, but I am also full of confidence and I certainly have the drive to make an honest attempt at this. I don't expect to make a great deal of money very quickly as I am going to employ the free and budget techniques first. Even so, I KNOW without a doubt that I will earn a small income within the first few months. By income I mean a couple of sales - That should get me excited enough to stick with this. It will also boost my confidence level up a notch. :D
I have a great deal of time at my disposal to get started. I plan on diving into all the info provided here very soon. I will more than likely allow myself eight hours + per day to put into this venture. I'll be setting some long and short term goals soon, but for now I'm just gonna absorb the wealth of information available here. I want to make the most of the first month - That's my first goal (To learn all I can about Internet Marketing). Soon, I'll be applying what I learn (maybe in the next 2 - 3 weeks).
Anyway, that's me in the pic - A mid aged country boy trying to make an honest buck .... See you guys soon!!!

Thanks for the welcome Bob. I wasn't able to put 8 hours in the last couple of days, but I did manage to read through a a few sections of the tutorials. I also wrote a mock article using the research tool provided here at WA. Soon I'll be choosing a product, and marketing for free, lol.

Thank you Garrd. I'll certainly be keeping my eye on the goals I set in place (Both the long and short term). Have you happened to have read "Who Loves Money" yet? It's a great E Book. I read it last night, and it is amazing the techniques you can use for little to no money and still bring in HUGE amounts of income. I have a feeling that it will be referenced many times throughout my career as an Internet Marketer.

Thanks for the well wishes, Dave. Yes, life has a way of "Getting in the way" sometimes. I'm lucky in that I have a great deal of time on my hands, and a steady stream of income to get me by while I learn the ropes.

When I first got here, I read for the best part of 3 days! There sure is a lot to take on board. In the end, you have to call a halt and say, OK, let's get into ACTION!
You're right about learning, though. And this is the place to do it. I figure, if I can't make a success of IM with all the resources and folks here to tap into, I never will. Hope things start well for you.

I noticed that you are a writer. Me, I barely have a high school education, but my determination to learn new skills should make up for that. It is never too late to learn new things, right?
I honestly feel like a kid in a candy store. There is soo much to look through and learn here at Wealthy Affiliate. I've been reading for the better part of 3 hours now, and think I've only skimmed the surface.
