Well I figured that the only way to learn was just to start. So I probably didnt do the 'right' thing, but I just went to the 20 top hot (something) that was here and selected a product. Then bought the site which was called directoryofezinesreview (i.e. the product name and the word review). I guess I am not too fussed if this first site doesnt make money - the domain only cost $7. I think the idea though, is to find something you are truely interested in, see if there might be a product or two related to that interest, and then develop a site around that ... Of course there seems to be so much to consider about finding the 'right' niche etc.. so I think I will use this first one to learn, then do a second one once I have a sense of how things really work

Thanks Jamie. I have had a busy first day here. Purchased a domain (had NO idea what to do, but went on the hot picks of the niche thingy and chose a product and then just picked a name to go with the product). At least it gets me on the right track with something to learn. Unfortunately I also had to buy that product (else how can I review it) - but fortunately it actually seems quite good and will compliment WA nicely.
