I've been MIA for a few days and I regret it! I feel like I missed a date or something!

One thing that I'm starting to learn is that inactivity leads to more inactivity, which is ultimately bad for progress. I have been spending too much time studying and reading, and not enough time producing results. I plan to change that... I'm glad that  I am able to recognize my faults and weaknesses. One thing that I have done to help is create a daily work schedule. Its funny how I am able to manage everyone else but myself. I guess this will change as I follow my own rules!

I empathise with how you feel - but reading what you've said these thoughts spring to mind.

1. Taking a break is healthy - It gives you time to replenish your emotional, physical, and intellectual 'bank accounts' and come back to a task refreshed. Embrace it.

2. Negative self-talk takes up too much energy - you talk about faults and weaknesses and regrets. Turn around your thinking. Every situation is a learning process. Take from it what you can and then move one and focus on the positive.

3. Planning is good and if done well will help you to work more efficiently and make the progress you want.

3. Giving advice to others is much easier than taking your own! - Human nature I'm afraid.

Educating yourself is great, but as you said, inactivity can yield more of it. Creating a daily work schedule is awesome and something that I really focus on when I am finding myself unproductive, just make sure that you don't let your list grow out of control...before you add one thing, make sure you check another item off.

And guess what, giving yourself a break is not a bad thing either. Stepping away can be good for idea generation and elaboration. :)
