Welcome To WA, Jump Already!
Last Update: July 06, 2012
I think the hardest part about starting anything new, is to just make that first leap, especially in IM, there are so many things you run into when you start to search the internet for ways to learn IM.
Can anyone say spam city? I am truly happy to have found WA, it took me from having pretty much no knowledge of how to build a website, or how to write content, choose keywords, build a network, using social, and so on, to a point where not only am I making money, but I am able to give back, by writing my own training mods.
If you're new here, and reading this, I have two words for you, "JUMP ALREADY!" just jump off the cliff into this community, the answer you need are here, but no one is going to come and find you and hand them to you.
You have to reach out to the community here, so many people are willing to help, people like Dean Robinson who runs a little website called Apina Press his website will teach you how to do so many things with WordPress that you wont even believe it.
Anything from using FTP, to custom menus, to making and using favicons and about a billion other things relating to WordPress, coding and website building and design, he even has a free E-Book, so make sure you utilize this tool, as you start to learn and grow in your IM career.
Dean is also a very active member of WA and is always willing to help people out, but there are tons of others on here that will go out of their way to help you as well, so don't be afraid to ask for that help in chat, or in PMs.
I know one of the biggest problems people have is just diving in and asking questions, I have heard a few people tell me they were worried that the questions they had were stupid, or embarrassing because they seemed so basic to experienced IMers.
Trust me on this, no one is going to laugh at you or make fun of you, that's just not the way it is here, pretty much all of us here, came here not knowing squat about IM.
Anyway, if you are new, Welcome to WA, it's awesome to have you here, and please holler at us...any of us, if you have questions, which I'm sure you will.
I also wanted to let you know that if you received help from someone and you are thinking "I wish I had a way to repay the favor" well you do, have at least one way that I can think of, which is just to simply share that persons website, article, training, or blog post on any and all of your social networks.
Sharing is Caring!
Thanks for reading =)
