1st Blog Post
It has taken me two months to finally post on my blog here at WA. I am cranking away at article marketing. So far I have tried The Oprah Method (see WA lesson about this, Strip That Fat campaign ($1mil blueprint) and the steps listed in Pot Pie Girl's 1000th WA forum post.
The Oprah Method campaign has gone nowhere. I don't have any hits to my Squidoo page meaning all my duplicate article submissions have done nothing. So much for that week of effort. I didn't like the concept of submitting identical articles to multiple sites anyways.
My Strip That Fat campaign could use some work. I only wrote 5 articles and want to write more to really give it a chance. I am passionate about weight loss and thought it was a good book. It is similar to what I followed to lose 40lbs after having my last son a year ago. The weight loss niche seems so saturated though, I'm not sure I'll be able to tackle it this early into my IM journey.
PPG's 1000th post is the most honest and convincing marketing concept I've seen so far in WA. I am getting the most traffic through this method.
As you may have guessed, I have not made one sale yet. But what I'm really battling with is that getting traffic has been really slow going. I think I have followed each of the methods correctly (good keyword positioning in the articles, pointing EZA articles to Squidoo, etc.) Am I just being impatient with it being only about a month and a half since I started these campaigns?
I also just read (3+ times) an ebook called Article Dominance I received from a PPG email. It talked about severely promoting your articles using spinners and article submitter software. It sounds like a good idea, but I would have to purchase some of the software and I have been trying to keep costs at a minimum.
I would also like to try PPG's One Week Marketing, but again, I want to keep my costs down.
I know this is a big ramble of my IM life so far, but I wanted to post this to get some opinions on what I should do next...get OWM and try that for a few weeks or get an article spinner and submitter and promote my existing campaigns.
I should also mention I have less than a year and a half to make this IM career work so I can cover my current salary, quit my job and work from home by the time my son starts kindergarten in Sept 2011. I don't want to cut corners, but I want to start showing progress and results as soon as possible too.
