Necessity is the Mother of Invention

Last Update: October 04, 2010

I've learned a very valuable lesson over the last few months.  If you've read my previous blog post, you'll know that I was feeling down and felt that writing was a weak spot for me. Now, here I am a couple of months later making close to $1000 a month writing for other people.

If you would have suggested that back then that I was going to make money writing for others,I would have said you were crazy. In fact I was thinking of paying others to write for me.  But with tight finances, I realized that I just couldn't swing it.  So I started bidding on freelancer. That first job was the toughest, but I pushed through and am now making some money so that I have eased the desperation somewhat. This has allowed me to focus more on the marketing aspect of making money online and to purchase some tools that make online marketing seem easier.  The biggest benefit? I can now write articles with ease.  What once seemed like a very daunting task has become very easy for me.

I guess the point of this blog is that if you are desperate for money, as many of us are, although it can be motivating it can also put you in a state of panic. When in this state, you can become easily frustrated and make snap decisions.  This usually results in not doing proper research and just sort of throwing things up to see what sticks. I've read some posts by people indicating that they don't have the money to purchase a domain name.  You can easily earn 5-10 bucks writing a couple of articles, thus giving you the money for that domain.  Find a way to get money coming in now, so that your online marketing can be better thought out without the desperation.

I'm glad you found it useful. I just know that making some money online has changed my entire mindset and attitude. It seemed like it was work work work with no payoff. Although my affiliate sales are slow at the moment, I'm still getting something coming in that I own and created, which is very satisfying and it has definitely motivated me to do more sales marketing for more of a product based as opposed to service based income.
Wow! talk about "when the student is ready the writing will appear on the wall" I only found your blog because I followed the comment from Jatdebeaune and found that you have written about my exact challenge - I too applaud you for pushing yourself out of the 'comfort zone' well done and thank you
cheers!

A well learned lesson. Nice to see that you took the bull by the horns and squashed that nagging bug that was holding you back. Sometimes all it takes is getting over the fear factor to allow yourself to shine. Fear is the basket that is sitting on top of the Lamp. Take off the basket and the light shines for all to see.
