I wrote 1 article, rewrote it 8 ways.  Published the 1st 4 versions 2 weekends ago, couldn't find my site in Google.  Published the last 5 last weekend.  My site is #4 in Google.  One of the 9 articles (the subject is the same but I changed them much) is number 1, another is #2, some stranger had the nerve to sneak in the 3rd position.  Then there's my site.  Then there's another of the articles of mine. 

Seems damn easy to get to number 4.  So Will it be equally easy to get to number #1? Any ideas on how to do it? Do I just write another article and publish it in 9 directories?

My conversion on the article in Ezinearticles.com is 16.7% but damn few readers.  I thought 16.7% is great, till I did the math.  I think 50% is what I should get.

Anyone has ideas on how I get 50% of the readers to go to where I send them?
