What's Going On At Associated Content

Last Update: February 11, 2011

This afternoon I went to log into my Associated Content to submit an article and this is the message I was greeted with...

Due to a violation of our terms and conditions, your Associated Content account has been closed and you are banned from participation. Any pending payments owed to you have been canceled and the corresponding content has been removed.

With over 200 articles posted on that directory that were driving traffic to my site you can imagine that this cam as a big blow. I have sent them a message to ask why but what ever the case, I think it's a bit harsh to take all my original content down as that has taken me months to write and submit.

In my opinion they should have at least given me chance to make changes to the content before removing it and banning me.

What I also noticed was that I was not the only one to have content removed. There was once thousands of articles relating to my niche and now there are just over 400.

It seems that since Yahoo has taken over Associated Content that they have become far more strict in terms of content accepted. They also used to accept articles immediately but now they are moderating each article. When I looked into it further they make mention that it can take up to 2 weeks for an article to be moderated and accepted.

So if you have an Associated Content account then it would be advisable to sign in and check that you can still sign in and still have all your content published.

I haven't worked with Associated Content and appreciate the warning. Have you been able to contact them? Wonder what their issue is? Take all the articles and re-publish them elsewhere, like EZA and ArticlesBase. Wonder if their objection is niche based.
