Now I'm scared to distraction and freaked beyond sensibility. It's much worse than the ghost stories we were telling during the power outage. Saw a documentary film last night that blew my mind. It was a 2009 film called "Transcendent Man" about Ray Kurzweil's ideas and predictions for the future. Kurzweil is a futurist, inventor who has some pretty terrifying predictions about where we are headed technologically.  He believes  we are advancing rapidly to a time when we won

Hurricane Irene took a toll on Connecticut on Sunday. Power has been down since late Saturday. We just got our electricity back a couple hours ago. Many people are still down, and expect to be without electricity for up to 10 days. If I ever complain again about technology, you have my permission to slap me across the face, maybe just throw some cold water in my face.  I had such tech withdrawal this week.   And I missed WA. In light of everything, I'm grateful to be alive and that my

Irene is slated to hit our shores tomorrow night. It's supposed to start churning up heavy rain during the day, and flooding is expected. They also expect power outages. What? No computer? I'll use my sister's Mac. I so wish it would go out to sea. If I start an incantation now, do you think it'll work? Spent the afternoon buying water, batteries, candles, food, filling the cars with gas. Someone said you have to keep peanut butter and crackers on hand because they are high energy food. I don't

I just had to say goodbye to my good friend, my brother in law, an important teacher in so many ways. His passing was all the more poignant because we lost my spectacular older sister nine years ago. She was Ron's wife. They were both way too young to depart from this world.  In my opinion, everyone is too young to depart. However, death is part of the cycle and probably not what we think it is at all. Nonetheless, when you lose the people you love, it leaves a big hole. Nothing ever takes

Lost my brother in law to cancer yesterday. It was a long hard battle, but I thought he was winning. Whole family is in shock, including me. Ron came into our family when I was fifteen, so he's my bro and not "in law". In a way, we grew up together. He was such a big brother. Big influence. He encouraged me to take bold steps whenever I was hesitant or afraid to move forward. Such a good brother. He lived life "to the fullest",  as much as he could. He was a very brigh

What does it mean to you to get into the flow? To me, it is a state of elevated consciousness, like a new plugin. A veil is lifted. You have accessibility to realms previously blurred by mental fog. You know when it happens? When you least expect it, and usually after prolonged effort. So, newbies, DON'T GIVE UP, the party hasn't even begun. I can enter that state of bliss quicker in the graphic arts because it is my sweet spot. It's more natural for me. IM has been a challenge. It has felt li

It's in line with being of service to people. Yes, I believe in being of service to people, and treating customers and potential customers as if they are friends and family. Treat others the way you want to be treated is my business credo. But in this post, I'm actually referring to choosing a hot profitable niche.  When I started out online, I was more interested in what appealed to me, choosing products that I would buy myself and what topic is of interest to me. That's okay because it p

Are you a Little Richard fan? I sure am. If you are too, you will find this vid fascinating. Little Richard was a big influence on the Beatles and Elvis, and probably just about everyone else.  Pretty amazing!   This is Richard Wayne Penniman (aka Little Richard) about fifteen years before "Tutti Frutti, Oh, Rudy...." If you're familiar with early peri

I love this time of day. Too early to make coffee because the intoxicating aroma will wake the household. Not only will they get mad or worried, but then the day will have to officially begin. I love going in the opposite direction of the crowd. Don't know why. If others are sleeping, I want to be awake. If others are awake. I want to be sleeping. If others rest and recreate on weekends, I want to be working. If others are working on Wednesdays, I want to take off and play. Always been that way
