Almost a tragic Christmas

Last Update: December 25, 2010

Well, I know better than to leave odorous substances under the tree.

Problem is, sometimes communication links break down when there is alcohol involved.

Cryptic I know.  Here's what happened.

My family and soon to be family stopped by for a Christmas eve celebration with Onion Soup and finger foods.  Its turning into a family tradition.  My mother stopped at our local Chocolatier ( Stevers Candies) and purchase a few sampler packs for some of the female members of my family.  One was a 1 lb package that ended up under the tree for retrieval later in the evening.  Dogs were crated in the basement for the festivities.

After they got to come back up but the package never got retrieved and spent most of the night under the tree.  In the morning, there was a bit of wrapper under the tree and the box with all the chocolate papers was at the bottom of the stairs. No candy anywhere to be seen.  Well, that was until around 6:30 AM.  Then in mysteriously reappeared. In a disgusting form.  At least it didn't stay down and she disgorged it.  Chocolate is not good for dogs and all of that, if it had stayed put would have required a visit to the emergency vet.

Not exactly what I had planned for the first thing Christmas morning.

The rest of the day was spent wonderfully with my GD (3 years) in 7th heaven, my wife pleased with the homemade gifties, my daughters appreciative of the attention they received and good food and company.

During the festivities, my soon to be SIL ( an Apple Genius) mentioned a new product that is selling like hotcakes with his circle of friends.  Did a quick check for competition and hits and lo and behold.  A NEW NICHE. for development.  I think I'm addicted.

Next Year...... I'll have money to spend on Presents.

Hope your day was as good.
