I started a Blog, The Daily Bark.

www.candrew.com/blog

Not many entries yet but if you are into dog training I expect you will enjoy it in the future.

I am sure I'm doing everything wrong here so far.  Grabbed a web address before I read far enough.  Apparently I should have tailored my name more appropriately.  I figured I would get a handle on Wordpress first then tailor a campaign to optimize the keywords.

I'm still trying to figure out how to write an article with some substance that targets a specific product.  Every keyword I check out seems to have a gazillion hits and millions of competitors.  So I guess I'm not targeting specifically enough.

As always, constructive commentary is appreciated.

I enjoyed The Daily Bark, I love the name by the way. I am not a professional dog trainer but have trained, to a certain point, several bird dogs so I find this very interesting.

The Daily Bark name's great. Why not use this blog as your first blogging experiment. I don't think you're doing verything wrong at all. You have your (great) squidoo lens for starters, then you've actually constructed your wordpress blog. You're taking action and at every stage you're learning how you would do things better next time. In term of keyword research have you had look at Des's quick keyword video? I think keyword research probably is one of those things that benefits from practice and frustrated attempts [lol]. Anyway as Des puts it, it's quick and dirty but you might glean some tips. It's also free at http://www.stepbystepplanforaffiliatemarketing.com/how-to-do-keyword-research/

I had the same problem during my research. I haven't published anything yet, just been learning and done the research. I tried the movie stream market, but think i put it on the shelf for the moment since i can not escape the 160 million hits i get even though i have a 4-5 word keyword tail. What i did notice is if you put " " at start and end it will narrow the search down quite a bit, but question is if most people do that when they look for something they want?
