Day of Rest

Last Update: November 07, 2010

Everyone is talking about a day of rest.

My day of rest started late, well we did after all gain an hour last night.

I think Daylight savings time is a crock of s.......

Drove down to Letchworth SP to train my SAR dog with the team.  Since Elphie has been getting a bit out of control recently we did a drill to keep her from jumping (mauling) the subjects.  It is so refreshing to run a drill with people that understand dogs as opposed to the haphazard subjects that I have been using lately.  Then we did an area search problem.  Well, for those of you that are not hunters, tis the season. Whitetail harvest is in full swing for the Archers in our midst and Letchworth is one place that has a few critters running around.  In our area search we located the remnants of a successful hunt.  Elphie had a serious attitude change when she came across this mess but recovered nicely when we passed it and she picked up the scent of a human. She made the find, came back and gave me a good indication of her success and headed back to play with the subject.

One of my main reasons for attending this training was IM related however.  I just can't seem to get it off my mind.  One of the team members is a Heating contractor and I have been looking at Local SEO for him.  He didn't attend,  apparently people have broken furnaces on Sunday.  Who knew?

Well, its too late for this year but I'm thinkin' that the Archery niche might be a good one to get into.  The people that do this are almost fanatical in their pursuit of the elusive whitetail. ( Saw 17 of them while doing the area search)  There are lots of magazines dedicated to hunting techniques, products galore, and I was a hunter once upon a time so I can relate to the audience.

So, I go out to play and end up working.  Think I'm getting addicted to this stuff yet?  The point is, there are niches everywhere you look.  Even if you are not home writing away at articles or creating landing pages, or SEOing your sites, there are opportunities just waiting for your discovery.

Oh, I came home and Roasted a chicken and some harvest veggies (anyone know a good recipe for Rutabaga?) then fell asleep. Now its way before dawn and I'm fully rested and ready for another productive week.  Now that's what I call daylight savings time!

Hey, I saw that you are looking into doing some local SEO for a business owner in your community. I'm interested in that too and just posted a question to the forum about it. What do you know about local SEO and how it's similar/different to regular Internet marketing? Would you be willing to share?

Someone once told me that daylight savings time was invented for the farmers. Evidently the cows get all turned around by dark mornings. Maybe they go off feed or don't produce as much milk. Something like that. I think marketers never rest. They're always looking for that next great product. Now you are authentic, Craig. Glad you got some rest.
