I love writing, am passionate about education and want the freedom to make money while being available full time for my boys. I am super excited! You know you and Tford27 ask some of best questions i've ever recieved if your looking to build SEO you also may want to check out http://www.thesecretmoneyonline.com it's $1 to start, (you might only need the 1 month) an Information site in my opinion IS THE SMARTEST thing to do in terms of SEO
The numbers arent bad but a few rules come into play are you looking at the "average search volume for the month" or "Apprx Avg search volume" be careful because you don't want to waste your time, the monthly search volume can be decieving and i dont want you to waste your time. The thing is you want go "Long Tail Keywords" but within those keywords you want high traffic keywords too. Because google pics them up and before you know it your an unmoveable force in the search engine.
As i'm writing you sorry i just got a comment from someone who stop at my blog it goes

lol the funny part is I almost completely stole the article from "rapid writer" lol, when your ontop of the search engine everyone wants a piece of you and people want backlinks too. So make sure your keywords are a bit competitive.
To answer your question from my personal opinion. Ok I have Blog posts that are about 29,000 searches they're great But make sure they're "TARGETED KEYWORDS" that have people thirsty to Buy lol. Try if you can to start blogging whom ever is ontop of your topic/niche leave random comments with back links to your website and then check they're search volume.
In terms of your information site. Questions to ask yourself---> How Much will what your marketing pay you like per sale or cpa???
Also if your going the adsense route how much will you be getting per click???

Hey, I have a question.
I want to build a content site. (Frankly it's already built, I just haven't posted it.) I believe it is in a fairly profitable niche. The starting kw has search volume 12,000 and site competition on google of 29,000. Is that reasonable to start a content site around (since I already have the info, and have done the writing anyway). I figured I'd start with that. Kinda like my first hoopty car, you know. Try affiliate and article marketing with what I have and build from there. (While I'm working the 8 week system of course. Or should i just make it a personal site, for family and friends and move on??? I figured since I was gonna post it anyway, might as well try to profit from it.
Then of course work the WA program with other sites. Please let me know what you think.
