Article-Lynx is a new backlinking membership site I began this last week. It is designed to help each member with ranking for keywords by piggybacking on the article marketing efforts of fellow members. 

 The site is beginning its life in "manual" mode, meaning all the link requests and approved article submissions are looked at by human eyes before people get paid. Members are paid in one of three ways: two as an affilliate (a 58% commission for recurring billing, and 50% commission on each link request) and one for submitting their own articles which carry not only their own links to sites/products they are promoting, but one link requested by another member. 

 One does not need to become a member to request to be an affiliate, but it would make more sense to also be a member, because of the added benefit of the backlink sharing. After all, much of article marketing is about getting valuable backlinks to blogs, sites and sales pages, in order to help Google index your destination urls, right? So, why not be a member, do what you are already doing (submitting articles), get paid to do that, and practice your affiliate marketing skills at the same time. 

 In addition to the opening of the site and the affiliate program, Article-Lynx also announces an affiliate recruiting contest. From now until June 30, 2010, the person who has the most active affiliates participating in the Article-Lynx membership site will win either an Apple iPad or $500. 

 Some have asked for clarification on the math...in other words, how exactly does Article-Lynx work to make the member money? Below is a scenario that is highly achievable by anyone participating in the program. This illustration assumes the affiliate marketer is also a member of Article-Lynx.

Commission: 58.5% or $4.24 for subscription fees, recurring monthly. Member doesn't get paid a commission on their own membership.

50% or .50 for each link request, no limit to how many per day affiliate can order.Commission is based upon the $6 minus $5 paid to the article writer/submitter, the remaining $1 split between Article-Lynx and the affiliate who sold a membership to the link requester. 

A typical scenario: Member joins, pays$7.77 for the monthly subscription fee, and plans on paying $6 per day for link requests.

Cost to member: (based on a 30-day month) $187.77, producing 30 backlinks on other members' article submissions.

Now, member sells membership to another, so begins to qualify for weekly affiliate commissions. Member receives $4.24 for their affiliate's recurring billing, receiving this commission the Monday following the payment to Article-Lynx. The affiliate also plans on paying $6 per day for link requests, so the member receives $15 per month, or .50 per day for the 30-day month.

Member receives $19.24 in affiliate commissions that month, bringing total member cost down to $168.53. Still receives the 30 backlinks on other members' article submissions.

Member then starts writing their own articles, promoting their own products and services, either their own or as an affiliate of other product owners. Because member is paying$6 per day for their own link requests, they qualify to submit the same number of articles containing both their own links as well as other members' links in their resource boxes. Upon approval, member receives $5 per approved and accepted article, paid every Monday. This amounts to $150 on the 30-day month plan.

Member receives $150, plus the $19.24 in affiliate commissions described above, for a total of $169.24 in revenue. This brings the total member cost down to $18.53, while still receiving 30 backlinks on other members' article submissions, plus 30 links on their own article submissions.

Member sells membership to a second affiliate, who follows the exact plan as the first affiliate and the member, that is: request one link per day and submit one article per day on the 30-day month plan. So, member would receive the same affiliate commission for this second affiliate's activity each month, or another $19.24 per month. This moves member's total cost into the profit arena, with $0.71 being earned each month.

While maintaining the same schedule of requesting one link per day at a cost of $6, and submitting one article per day at a payment to member of $5, the member decides to include an increase in selling memberships. For each membership the member sells to additional affiliates, the member increases his or her own revenue by $19.24 per month. This is based on the one link request/one article submission per day for a 30-day month plan. This amount would increase or decrease depending upon the input/output of activity from any and all affiliates as well as that of the member.

This is a highly doable scenario, achievable by any level of affiliate or article marketer. The nice thing about this service is that is gives the member "seed" money to invest in more education, programs, other membership sites, videos and dvds, etc. Or even just the satisfaction of showing those who doubt them that, see?, I am making money online.
