Hi, I'm Roy and I'm just getting started in the wild and wonderful world of affiliate marketing.
There's a lot to learn and I know it will take me a while to get up to speed, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm eager for success and I'm willing to put in the effort to make it happen.
Here are some "Random Roy Facts":
--- I'm 38.
--- I live in Springdale, Arkansas. Good 'ole Walmart country.
--- I got divorced a few years ago, but my ex-wife and I are still best friends. Yeah, I know I'm weird. :-)
--- I fractured my neck, screwed up my back, and trashed both of my knees in an auto accident back in 2001.
I couldn't imagine a worse experience at the time, but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me because it forced me to wake up and stop sleepwalking through life. I wouldn't be the person I am today without that experience.
--- I've managed to lose 262 pounds over the last two and a half years. I've still got a ways to go, but I'm over halfway to my goal now!
--- I'm a self-improvement nut. The Secret? Check. Affirmations? Got some good ones. Quantum Physics? Great stuff. It helped me find my way through the darkest time in my life.
--- I love cats. They're amazing and beautiful creatures that always manage to teach me something new about love.
--- I love quotes. If you find one that makes you think, let me know.
It's hard getting to know someone online, so let me share a few of my favorite quotes with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.
-- Emerson
Life is not about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself.
-- Scott Ginsberg
They may forget what you said, they may forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
-- Carl W. Buechner
You don't get to choose how you're going to die. Or when. You can only decide how you're going to live. Now.
-- Joan Baez
There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread.
-- Mother Teresa
Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.
-- Michelangelo Buonarroti
Scars remind us where we've been - they don't have to dictate where we are going.
-- Joe Mantegna
Do not worry if you have built your castles in the air. They are where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.
-- Henry David Thoreau
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
And here's my favorite poem ... "Our Deepest Fear" by Marianne Williamson. I hope it speaks directly to your heart, too.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
Who am I?
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God!
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in all of us!
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Still gives me goose bumps.

Thank you for the hug! There are times in life when a hug is just what is called for, this would be one of those times. Unfortunately the same day I wrote my last post to you my body started crashing. It's been a tough few weeks but thankfully I'm now feeling a bit more like myself. Woohoo!!
I read your poem. It's awesome. I really like how it's so bold with saying how God sees us and wants us to see ourselves. : )
Btw, my favorite quote? Knowledge is power by Sir Francis Bacon. Simple, sweet, and keeps the focus on learning instead of pessimism.

Thanks, P!
Quotes are just awesome. They're little slices of clarity that really make me think.
I just added my favorite poem to my profile, so stop by and check it out.
I noticed your profile mentioned you were on disability from chronic health problems. I know exactly how that feels. (I fractured my neck and screwed up my back in an auto accident about 9 years ago.) Here's a big hug for ya. *hug*

I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope you have nothing but good days.
I love that poem, too. It really felt like a personal message to me when I first read it. It changed the way I viewed so many things.
That's a good quote, too. I think he missed the mark a little with it, though ... it should have been "applied knowledge is power".
