Hi, I've been working as a graphic artist for about 5 years now. Too bad the word "artist" is so often (and accurately) linked with "starving". I'm a mom of 3 (two teenagers & a toddler) and my goal is to make enough money to justify being home for them.
My youngest, Erin, has medical issues and I'm just not comfortable with her in daycare, so being home is the only option for me. The only problem has been how to pay the bills and keep the creditors away. Being stressed makes it hard to enjoy this time with her.
But this will be the year that I can do it! I KNOW I can make a great life for us!

Angi, do you have an online portfolio of your work? Please share. I agree with you on your success. However, it is not an easy life working from home and parenting. I sense your resolve. That is what will be required for your success--dedication, relentless resolve. You will want to make the most of other income possibilities while you establish your online career. I won't tell you "Good Luck", because we make our luck by working. So, I say, find time to work, plant so you will harvest.

Thanks for the insight about working from home and parenting. I am fortunate that I actually have an building that my family owns and no longer uses, so it's become my office. Erin is only 2, but she already seems to understand that when we are at the office, Mommy has to get work done. She sits behind me and entertains herself with her toys. I am very blessed!
