Don't come and see me today - and if it ain't broke DON'T FIX

Last Update: August 13, 2010

I am not a positive place to be today. Or not right this hour at any rate.

I'm letting off steam so please read no further if you're either feeling negative or like a good moan. I'm not usually either, but I will not be perking you up this afternoon.

I have been tussling with WP Express for days ... and days. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth it became unimportant when Dave kindly suggested a workaround until the buglet was fixed. But no. I had to try for perfection.

It was proposed me that I could theoretically (if I was daft enough) delete my domain and blog and then reinstall with nameservers pointing to 3 and 4.

You know when you have that feeling in your gut that says "Don't do it. Be content - the workaround's fine?" And you know when you don't listen. And it all goes belly up?

Hmph.

It's entirely my own fault. My blog was hardly existent. It's not such a huge issue apart from I like the idea of hosting at WA and Kyle's been really helpful this week. But even though the domain's happily re-hosted here and if I preview the site it even says it's powered by Wordpress, WP Express is having none of it. Even though it's set the blog up and given me all the passwords ... when I try to log in it still says:

"The requested URL /wp-login.php was not found on this server"

WhatEVER  ...

So now I'm going to work. And do I ever pity  the customers who have the mis-fortune to speak to me this afternoon.

Over and out.

Good is good enough, Paula.

One of these days, I'm going to start paying attention to my advice to others.

You need an oreo cookie break and be sure to dunk them in milk.

Whew.......for a second there I thought you had copied one of my comments about WPExpress................though I know it doesn't help fix anything.........you are not alone in that frustration nor the multiple hours of beating a dead nag.

One word fixed it for me,...."Bluehost".
Not the loyal to WA response I've been told but business is business.

I too would love to promote WA using All Things WA but it is not possible where the hosting is concerned.
But that's OK because most of the other stuff works fine.

I hope you have a good day and make it home with few or ZERO assault charges against you.

Hi Paula, I just had a "gut reaction" experience, and proceeded anyway. As it turns out, the gut reaction was right on. I should have paid attention in the first place. Always listen to the inner voice. Hope your day winds up on a happy note.

Fallulah..Sometimes our gut instinct seems to be the right thing to go with...Most of us (especially myself) ignore the gut and ask " What could it hurt?" and proceed into doing something we shouldn't do. That's part of what makes us human. So don't beat yourself too badly...As far as the customers go...Give 'em hell !... Peace..Barnabus
