Inaugural Youth Olympics Games from Sat 14 Aug to Thu 26 Aug 2010

Last Update: August 14, 2010

What a spectacular opening ceremony of the inaugural Youth Olympics Games hosted by Singapore on the night of Sat 14 Aug 2010 at the Float@Marina Bay.  About 5000 athletes from different countries will participate in the games.  The Youth Olympic Flame started its journey from Ancient Olympia on 23 July 2010 where the Flame was lit and traveled to Berlin (Germany), Dakar (Senegal), Mexico City (Mexico), Auckland (New Zealand) and Seoul (Republic of Korea), and then on a 305-km route around Singapore.  The torch passed by my home where I saw many happy children waving to the torch bearers passing the Flame from one bearer to another.  The Flame ended on the grand opening night. The last torch bearer ignited the cauldron to signify the start of the Games.

What surprised me was that there were many countries that were new to me. This reminded me that if I don’t get myself updated in this fast changing world, my knowledge will be outdated.  So to be a good internet marketer, I’m must keep my knowledge fresh to compete in the race of Internet Marketing.  I believe that a good community like WA is the best place to sharpen my knowledge.

For those WA members who are interested in sports can get the latest news of the games from the official site at http://www.singapore2010.sg/public/sg2010/en.html

Cheers!

George
