Is Your Website Missing Something? USP alert!

USP= Unique Selling Proposition

Every business needs one to succeed... yet most don't have one. Not a surprise to discover that most new businesses fail... but why? It can be for many reasons, but one thing is sure, If you don't clearly distinguish your business from the rest of the pack, you are already taking one step down the wrong path.

Your USP is a statement that defines your business in clear, concise terms. It's your proprietary competitive edge... and should be included in every ad and all publicity. It is why many customers will decide to do business with you instead of the other guy.

Creating your USP is a second opportunity to better define your business. It forces you to focus your message. If your message does not clearly describe your "widget or service" and how your ideal customer will benefit from it. More times than not, it means your concept needs to be simplified a bit. if you are not able to do it convincingly... your potential customer will move-on to the other 50,000 sites similar to yours. Your task is to become the one bold letter out of all the letters in the first chapter of a book.

**the Below info is quoted from Guerilla Marketing Remix. (I am not a reseller or an affiliate for any "Guerilla" books & products other than reading the books..

1. Your USP should make a specific promise to customers. Example: "Buy this product and you will get this clear benefit."

2. It should be one your competitors cannot or will not match. It must be unique. Your customers should not be able to get the benefit anywhere else.

3. It should be so strong that it can create a crowd of eager buyers. Ideally, only a lunatic would refuse to buy from you.

"Keep your ideal prospect in mind when creating your USP. There's a big difference between affluent customers and bargain hunters who look only at price. Which group do you want buying from you?"
Jay Conrad Levinson--- Father of Guerilla Marketing
