HERE'S MY LIFE IN A NUTSHELL ..... a BIG nutshell: ......So corporate America closed our office, and I lost my job about five years ago and said to myself,... I said, "Self, Hot dang!! NOW is the time to see the world." So I packed up my daughter, and we started off living in various US States. I married a great guy along the way, and we all continued to enjoy the various US States. Then we decided to move out of the country to experience the -real- world. Wow! What an awesome experience!

I tried to get employed here in the States, but, well -- so were thousands upon thousands of other people! I have never gone on so many interviews in my life! I got tired of hearing that I was over qualified or that the company felt safer hiring their less-competent internal candidate.

Well, that was when I figured enough was enough, and I decided to be my own boss and make my own money. Just seemed easier that way. No more job interviews!!! Wooohoooo!!

We love animals and have had plenty. My youngest daughter (16) is a professional dog trainer (obedience, agility, rally, behavioral issues, etc.), and she also specializes in training blind or deaf dogs. She is the female version of Cesar Millan. She's got that special gift. She posts dog-training videos on YouTube and she's creating her own blogs. She's also studying digital photography.

My oldest daughter is a private Nurse specializing in Geriatric care. She is very good in caring for and assisting her elderly patients. She is currently in the process of opening up her own Assisted Living facility. She pours 100% of herself into her care and wants her facility to reflect this same quality attention.

My son is a private school Teacher during the day working for one of the top private schools in Northern California. His students love him and are, therefore, very eager learners (a skill that will greatly benefit them throughout their years). In the evenings my son teaches Taekwondo (Korean martial arts) and also competes nationally. He will also be opening up his own private studio soon.

My husband and I love to travel, and we love to eat good food. Greece is our next adventure. Not the tourist stuff. If any of you live in or have visited some of the Greek isles, let me know your experience.

Enjoyed your lens. Also, I was just driving through Gary, IN and was surprised at how desolate it looks there just off the hwy.

Wow. You are amazing. You must be so proud of your family. I have young boys but your story makes me excited to see them grow up and be amazing adults in the world. I also love to travel. If it's okay, I hope to learn from you in the future.

Hi Pryzym.

Like you I like travelling - and I have just come back from a holiday to the Greek Island of Crete - which is well worth a visit! The place is a treasure chest of culture, great food and stunning scenery. We stayed in a small village, Koutouloufari, about ½mile away from the holiday resort of Herssonisos. If you want a family friendly holiday, laid back without the hustle and bustle of tourism, but still not too far away from the bars and clubs I can highly recommend this place.

I'd be happy to share more if you're interested.

Wow, Karsten! Thank you for the info on Crete! Sounds like you had a wonderful time! I will most definitely send you a note when we're ready to make further plans. I've added your suggestion to my "list."

Also, I love the fact that you grow a lot of your own food. That is so cool. It's something I've always wanted to do.
